Preach Christ, Not America
Texts: Matthew 7:15-20; Galatians 1:6-9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Matthew 28:19-20
MAGA conservative Charlie Kirk was a right-wing Christian activist whose organization openly joined Christian faith, conservative politics, and American patriotism. Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, and Mike Huckabee have also been prominent voices in conservative political circles. As a Christian, I believe we must test every public teacher and political message by the Word of God. I believe these figures are wolves in sheep’s clothing when conservative politics, nationalism, and America are elevated where Jesus Christ and His Gospel should be proclaimed. Jesus warned, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” - Matthew 7:15, KJV

The mission Jesus gave His followers was not to make America conservative. It was not to build a Republican nation, win culture wars, or make people loyal to a political movement.

Jesus said, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.” - Matthew 28:19, KJV

TURN NOT TO THE RIGHT HAND NOR TO THE LEFT -
Proverbs 4:27 says, “Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” Scripture repeatedly describes life as a path. There is a way of wisdom and a way of foolishness, a path of righteousness and a path of wickedness. That is why Proverbs 4:26 says, “Ponder the path of thy feet.” Pay attention to where you are walking. Do not blindly follow politicians, preachers, celebrities, movements, traditions, or crowds. Test everything by the Word of God. Deuteronomy 5:32 says, “Ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.” This is not about modern political parties. The Christian path is not Republican or Democrat, conservative or liberal. Our standard is God’s Word, and our Lord is Jesus Christ. Psalm 119:105 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Proverbs also commands us, “Remove thy foot from evil.” Do not excuse evil because someone belongs to your political party. Do not defend wickedness because someone claims to be Christian. Romans 12:9 says, “Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.” Sometimes following Christ means leaving behind an ideology, a false teacher, hatred, pride, or an idol. Jesus warned that the broad way leads to destruction, while the narrow way leads to life. The question is not how many people are walking a certain road. The question is whether Jesus is leading you there. Colossians 2:6 says, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him.” Walk in Christ. Love God. Love your neighbor. Love your enemies. Speak truth. Show mercy. Reject hatred, deception, pride, and idolatry. Do not turn to the right or to the left. Keep following Jesus. “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” - John 14:6.

The Gospel Is Not the Empire of Trump
Texts: Galatians 1:6-9; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; John 18:36; Psalm 146:3
MAGA conservative Charlie Kirk built his public ministry and political activism around conservative politics, American traditions, culture-war issues, and support for Donald Trump. Turning Point’s political organizations worked directly to mobilize voters for Trump, while Turning Point Faith sought to activate churches and pastors politically. Kirk himself spoke at church-oriented events where Scripture, Christianity, conservative politics, and support for Trump were brought together.

As a Christian, I believe we must test that message against Scripture.

Do Not Trust in False Peace

I believe Trump is the Antichrist and the boastful little horn described in Daniel 7. Don’t put your spiritual trust in Trump’s peace plans. Put your trust in Jesus Christ alone.

Trump’s association with the image of a peacemaker goes back decades. In 1983, photographer William Coupon photographed Trump holding a white dove for Manhattan Inc. Coupon said Trump had expressed a desire to be a peace negotiator between Israelis and Palestinians, so the dove was chosen to symbolize peace. The Guardian

Scripture warns, “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them” (1 Thessalonians 5:3, KJV). This does not mean every peace agreement fulfills that prophecy, but Christians should never mistake political diplomacy for the peace and salvation found in Christ.

“Put not your trust in princes” (Psalm 146:3, KJV). Test the spirits. Read the Scriptures. Do not make any politician your savior. Only Jesus saves. Jesus Christ alone is Lord and the true Prince of Peace.

Jesus Brings a Sword: Jesus Is the Way, the Truth, and the Life
Brothers and sisters, Jesus said, “I came not to send peace, but a sword.” The sword Jesus spoke of points to the division that can come when people choose whether to follow Him and His truth. Following Jesus can bring division even within families, because the truth of Christ demands a decision.

Matthew 10:34-36 (KJV)

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”

John 14:6 (KJV)

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Vice President JD Vance recently said that he would be “not shocked if the Antichrist was walking among us.”

That statement should make Christians think carefully.

Vance is looking at the condition of the world, spiritual darkness, technology, artificial intelligence, and other troubling developments and wondering whether the Antichrist could already be here.

But Christians should remember that deception often works because people are looking in the wrong direction.

Woe Unto You Who Desire the Day of the Lord

A September 1, 2026 article from The New Republic is titled “JD Vance Says He’s OK With Bringing About the End Times.” The article reports that during his interview with Christian evangelist Bryce Crawford, Vice President JD Vance said he does not know whether we are living in the end times, that he would not be shocked if the Antichrist were already walking among us, and later said that he is trying to do what he believes is God’s work and “if that leads to the end times, OK.”

But Scripture gives a sobering warning about desiring the Day of the Lord. “Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light” (Amos 5:18 KJV). The Day of the Lord is not something to casually celebrate, wish for, or speak about bringing about. It is a day of divine judgment.

THE SHADOW POINTS TO JESUS

Nebuchadnezzar and Cyrus were Gentile kings whom God used for His purposes. They can be understood as shadows or types pointing beyond earthly kings to Jesus Christ, the true King of kings. The shadow points to Jesus, not Donald Trump or any other earthly man.

I believe conservative false prophets and false teachers are deceiving Christians when they portray Trump as a modern Cyrus or Nebuchadnezzar. In my interpretation of prophecy, I believe Trump instead fits the pattern of Daniel's boastful Little Horn and Paul's man of sin, which I understand as the Antichrist.

Do not put your hope in presidents, political movements, America, democracy, or a republic. Earthly kingdoms rise and fall, but Christ's Kingdom “shall never be destroyed” (Daniel 2:44 KJV).

Jesus Christ alone is King. Follow Him, not an earthly ruler.

Psalm 49 gives a sobering warning about wealth, earthly glory, and the human desire to make one's name endure. Verse 11 says, "Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names." Human beings have always wanted to leave something behind that says, Remember me. Remember my name. Remember my greatness. Kings built palaces. Rulers raised monuments. The wealthy named buildings, estates, and lands after themselves. But Scripture reminds us that none of these things can defeat death.

THE ARCH, THE IDOL, AND THE WARNING

THE ARCH, THE IDOL, AND THE WARNING

Trump’s Arch should be a warning to Christians about pride, political idolatry, human glory, and the worship of earthly power. I believe it represents an idol and points prophetically toward the abomination of desolation. Christians should examine these things carefully through Scripture rather than placing their trust in political rulers or monuments built to glorify human power.

Daniel gives a sobering warning about a ruler who exalts power:

Daniel 11:38 (KJV): “But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.”

Other translations render “God of forces” as the “god of fortresses.” The picture is one of power, strength, wealth, and military might being exalted.
