Political violence should never be celebrated, and Christians should condemn his killing without turning him into a Christian martyr. Biblically, martyrdom is not simply dying violently while being a Christian or political activist. Martyrs suffer because of their testimony concerning Jesus Christ. Stephen was killed while proclaiming Christ. Revelation speaks of believers who overcame “by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony” - Revelation 12:11, KJV. The center of Christian martyrdom is Jesus. If someone dies while associated with a political movement, that does not automatically mean they died for the Gospel.

God Did Not Give Us Trump as Our Shepherd Texts: John 10:11; Hebrews 13:5; Daniel 7:8; Matthew 24:4-5; Psalm 146:3 Before the Republican midterm convention, Donald Trump resurfaced the “God Made Trump” video. The video portrays Trump as a God-given caretaker and calls him a “shepherd to mankind” who will “never leave nor forsake” people. Christians should recognize how serious that language is. Jesus said: “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” John 10:11, KJV Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd. Trump is not. Scripture also says: “For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Hebrews 13:5, KJV That promise belongs to God. Christians should not transfer language belonging to God and Christ onto a political leader. This is especially concerning to me because I personally believe Donald Trump fits the biblical picture of the Antichrist and the boastful little horn. Take It by Force Is Not the Way of Christ Texts: 1 Samuel 2:12-17; Matthew 11:12; John 18:36 I believe some MAGA-aligned false prophets, false teachers, and conservative evangelical apologists want to “take it by force.” To me, that resembles Eli’s sons, the “sons of Belial,” who abused their religious authority for selfish gain. Scripture says, “Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.” - 1 Samuel 2:12, KJV. They were priests, but their religious titles did not make them faithful to God. When someone resisted their corrupt demands concerning the sacrifice, their servant said, “Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.” - 1 Samuel 2:16, KJV. That phrase should be a warning whenever religion becomes centered on domination, political power, control, greed, or forcing people to conform. Christianity is not supposed to become a tool for taking power by force.

The Little Horn’s Boastful Speech in Daniel In the Book of Daniel, the “little horn” is a prophetic symbol that emerges from the fourth beast — the Roman Empire — and is described as having “eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth that spoke boastfully” (Daniel 7:8). This horn is distinct from the other ten horns of the beast, as it arises after them and even uproots three of the original horns. The Boastful Words The horn’s “boastful words” (or “great words”) are central to its identity. They are not just arrogant speech but blasphemy against God. The horn “spoke out against the Most High” and sought to change times and laws (Daniel 7:25). This defiance is seen as a direct challenge to God’s authority and His people’s covenant. Historical and Theological Interpretation Many Christian interpreters identify the little horn as a future world ruler — often called the Antichrist — who will rise in the end times. This figure will: Oppress God’s people for three and a half years (time, times, and half a time). Wages war against the saints and prevails for a time. Desecrate worship and disrupt God’s order, as seen in Daniel 8:11–12. The horn’s boastfulness is not merely pride; it is spiritual rebellion — an attempt to usurp divine authority and set up an idolatrous system. The End of the Horn The vision concludes with the horn’s downfall: “I kept watching because of the sound of the boastful words which the horn was speaking; I kept watching until the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning fire” (Daniel 7:11). This signifies the ultimate defeat of the horn’s power and the restoration of God’s kingdom. In summary: The little horn’s boastful speech in Daniel is a prophetic image of a future, blasphemous ruler who will oppose God, oppress His people, and be ultimately destroyed at the end of the age.

Do Not Trust in False Peace I believe Trump is the Antichrist and the boastful little horn described in Daniel 7. Don’t put your spiritual trust in Trump’s peace plans. Put your trust in Jesus Christ alone. Trump’s association with the image of a peacemaker goes back decades. In 1983, photographer William Coupon photographed Trump holding a white dove for Manhattan Inc. Coupon said Trump had expressed a desire to be a peace negotiator between Israelis and Palestinians, so the dove was chosen to symbolize peace. The Guardian Scripture warns, “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them” (1 Thessalonians 5:3, KJV). This does not mean every peace agreement fulfills that prophecy, but Christians should never mistake political diplomacy for the peace and salvation found in Christ. “Put not your trust in princes” (Psalm 146:3, KJV).
