Three seconds too late
Thrusters deploy at touchdown
We’re fire and dust

We travelled light years
To meet with the aliens
Just to touch their hand

Touch and go -
the comet turns tail
and runs.

Scanning the night skies,
we search for new signs of life.
We search for meaning.

Intelligent life
Aliens search throughout Earth
Better luck in space

Searching
the databanks -
its diodes slowly fading.

Electronic search
They left the meteor swarm
Once again no gold

We search the whole sky
Hope for a signal that says
We are not alone

The search for meaning
Like space/time is infinite
It never does end

In search to belong,
looking vaguely alike here
easiest fake out.

we were lured right in
like any of it mattered
failed search for meaning

One star, another
We turn our gazes outward
And new eyes meet ours

space exploration
discovering what is left
of the search parties

Night sky always rains
Neon signs burn blue, hot pink
Eyes search the dashboard

Night sky always rains
Neon signs burn blue, hot pink
Eyes search the dashboard

spying with my eye
searching for souls who slipped through
meteor shower

the search
almost over
and you're next
