The knife in the crust,
cutting through with ease
A voice in my head dictates
escape to the wilderness
and follow those ravenous wild dogs
who live amongst rags in makeshift towns
those chains never go away

#BornBattleReady : RAVENOUS

@blackonreds.bsky.socialOct 9, 2026, 1:48 PM

Ravenous brain
Working overtime
Driving me insane

Memories of then
Thinking about now
Not remember when's

Why do you taunt me
My ravenous brain
Reset to see

Nothing can be done
Past is the past
I survived
Therefore I won

Somehow I love
The taste of copper
Knowing some would call it sin
My ravenous hunger
You cannot, will not win
Let me get closer
I want to taste your blood
A daydream nightmare
Controlled by darkness
I guess I confess
That this life
Is a neverending
Torture to others

#BornBattleReady

bound by the crux
beneath ravenous skies
watercolour elysiums
seep beyond nascent verse

and i want you
all interlaced fingers
and silent poetry
in sighing contours

fate demands
and irreverence complies

so stain your tenets
when my soul aches most
for the memory of a song
not yet composed

let those clouds
devour our art my love

til no horizon
could ever dare deny us

The ravenous night devours the light
feasting on the last fading colours
the shadows are slowly deepening
but the eternal moonlight
will always still spill its silver
patiently painting shimmering trails
across the canvas of darkness
its soft whispers leaving ageless beauty
that lingers for hours in its wake

#BornBattleReady

Clouds are drifting, slowly unfolding
spilling moonlight and stars
upon the sleeping ocean
where shimmering gentle waves
are quietly shifting and sighing
ravenously feasting upon the beauty
and basking in the gentle glow
as the light and darkness quietly embrace
in the soft kiss of the night

WILD DAHLIA

Wild Dahlia, the name of the bar,
The owner was Deborah,
Below her left breast there was a scar,
She’d let you see if you whispered sweet,
Thought that could only get you so far.

The drinks were cheap,
The company cost...

It was decided
No longer to be satisfied
With the life lived in shadows
Only the bright spotlight
All eyes on her
Like a wild dahlia,
Only full sunlight
Would suffice
So strap in my dear
In could be a bumpy ride

#BornBattleReady

Last night, you left wild dahlias in my dreams
you brought them to me
with soil still clinging to their roots, unruly plants
the colour of sunset and blood
their petals trembling beneath the weight of moonlight
you quietly whispered ‘these grew where we ended’
words that I understood, that brought me to tears
I looked at one wild dahlia, climbing though the wreckage
thin dark threads reaching for something
then suddenly the dream shifted
we were standing in an endless field
beneath the moon, wild dahlias surrounded us
their colours glowing against the darkness
like small forgotten galaxies, only you, only me
and the flowers leaning toward us
but dreams are cruel, they give us back
the people we have lost
only long enough to lose them again
already your face was fading
and the wild dahlias began closing, one by one
and somewhere, far beyond the dream
a morning bird started singing
