Though nothing could be further from the truth, they confuse it with right wing, Tea Party-type politics and evangelical religions. They think it is connected to the attacks on the theory of evolution, the idea of Intelligent Design, and the drives to install Creationism in our schools. So these people harbor the mistaken notion that spiritual or transpersonal realities have something to do with organized religion, when they are quite different and, indeed, often at odds with each other. [See, on-line, my article, Primal Spirituality: The Inner Authority.] A Call to Know Instead However, this new evidence and new paradigm are not at all at odds, let alone at war with — as much of the constructs of fundamentalist theology are — our traditional scientific ways or findings.

46. HEAVEN Page 15 …endless possibilities. This is significant, for later experience will have the majority of people feeling fearful of new beginnings. We will see that in the way they are traumatized at birth, so not wanting to achieve again; and in the way after the period of blissful expanse in the womb, in the later stages, it becomes claustrophobic and hellacious, leaving an imprint that growth is dangerous. These are just examples; there are other experiences leading one astray as well. Whereas if one is lucky or has cleared away enough of the residual primal pain and trauma from one’s beginnings, one can stand upon a more blissful and euphoric foundation. These are aspects of what I call the “joy grids,” which underlie one’s Pain and create our deeper human nature. In this case, one experiences new beginnings as ecstatic. There is a reason that I have labeled this entire series of books, which has been stimulated by the discovery of these underlying joy grids, The Path of Ecstasy Series. In any case, this example of ecstatic experience at the time of descent through the fallopian tube I can personally liken to my experience of leaving “the nest” and going off to college — which began as one of the happiest and most magical times of my life. We see examples of this feelings constellation — that is, BPM I — coming out in films, as well. The movie, Avatar, is set on another planet, whose environment is a near-perfect depiction of a BPM I state.

These feelings, while they may be reinforced by later life events, oftentimes have roots that go back to a time immediately after birth. At this time, too frequently, the jaw is pulled down for the insertion of fingers and suction devices. It is done in a manner that is excruciatingly painful for a being that has spent his or her entire life — nine months — previous to that in a relatively placid environment with its mouth closed. This ungentle procedure is also felt as an assault in that it occurs, usually, as the first event a baby is confronted with upon release from the womb. Its tiny mouth — never before fully opened — is often the first focus of attention, as large fingers (relatively) reach in, stretching the previously unopened and unstretched (virgin) mouth ... breaking the metaphorical oral hymen of the neonate in a way that is felt to the infant to be comparable in pattern and violation to oral sexual assault. Repression of Individuality The extent to which overlords wished to drive all individuality and feeling out of their underlings is exemplified in a sight we see everywhere in all patriarchal societies, and pretty much only in patriarchal cultures. That sight is of the soldier, guard, attendant standing at attention and unmoving, often near at hand to the Controller — the king, royalty, military or political personage, or tyrant. What better way to indicate that person in attendance is not a person or alive but is only a tool to be used at the overlord’s whim. Notice how no amount of movement is allowed. For any such action arising out of the volition of the underling would indicate an individuality, separate from the Controllers, that was wanted to be beaten out and removed from the personality of the soldier or guard. The message is clear: “Your life is not your own. It is mine. Don’t even think of having an idea of your own, let alone an independent action. No. Your body is mine to direct and manipulate. Keep it in the corner, quiet and unmoving, until I tell you what to do with it.” The thinking here is no different from that of storing one’s guns in a locker, keeping one’s car in the driveway.

They came to the conclusion that a birth imprint occurs, which is induced by the extreme stress of that time and is resistant to fading from later experience. Further they asserted that this imprint could be the cause of a wide spectrum of psychiatric and psychosomatic disorders. Leslie Feher — Psychoanalysis, Birth, Cutting of Umbilical Cord, Separation Trauma Leslie Feher (1980) sought to extend the Freudian tradition farther back into areas that, she asserts, were until only recently unknowable. Thus, she describes a natal theory and therapy that includes experiences of cutting the umbilical cord, birth, and even prebirth. In fact, she considers the cutting of the umbilical cord to be central in her theory of trauma, calling it the crisis umbilicus, and echoes Fodor in claiming that it is the true origin of the castration fears made so much of in psychoanalysis. The cutting of the umbilical cord was said to be the true origin of castration fears.

Now, is that not the most extreme form of reaction formation you have ever heard? These folks have developed an elaborate, comforting fantasy to escape the facts of their lives, which are, comparatively, not very happy. Gotta Love ‘im! He’s the ... Monster! These “enraptured” people are usually the ones come of the brutal parenting we are, generally speaking, trying to rise above in our society. Yet these folks, “for their own good,”1 were not “spared the rod.” Consequently, they were beaten into fawning upon the unreal wishes of their authoritarian parents — parents who themselves were sad religious delusionals whose lived world was an imaginary one of hellishness and a stern bearded father god who makes you say, even think, that he is loving, despite being the most horrendously mean and more-than-murderous mythical figure ever concocted.

The Crooked Path to Self This back-and-forth trajectory of the path toward self is continually revealed in the film as symbolized by the shape of several actual paths trod by the hero (the one going into the factory where Joe worked and the one going up to the top of the volcano), a design on Joe’s wall, and a significantly shaped lightning bolt, which brings down the luxury ship and, in its seeming tragedy, brings about the circumstances that reveal the hero in Joe and lead to his most profound revelations. All three of these depict the exactly same- shaped crooked road. This is an indication that this movie is about a lunar theology, not a solar one. Solar theologies strive for a ladder progression, a step-by-step and linear one, in accordance with mentally understandable stages toward the goal, a consequence of cause and effect, and dictated by the mind. Matrix Manifest and The Big Lie This change had a great deal to do with the efforts of the World-War- Two Generation — in total horror at the way their sons and daughters seemed to be reversing the values for which they had lived, and fought — to “take back” society. The WWII Generation did this by putting pressure, as well-to-do alumni, on universities and colleges across America to turn their curricula away from liberal arts and toward job- oriented curricula, and by using their positions of power in the media to influence the flow and content of the information to be fed to the mainstream public. For example, in the early Seventies, specifically beginning in 1972 and just before the election of Nixon for a second term, the WWII Generation’s money and power directed the press to declare that a “conservative backlash” was occurring in America, when in fact the opposite was happening.

In addition, the tasks of mothering, for that devil-may-care chimp mother includes nothing like what is required of human mothers in terms of pacifying the infant. Being more mature and less helpless, chimp and gorilla babies do not need to, nor have they evolved to be able to, scream and wail for attention and to express their needs like human newborns do. That is another thing that is distinctly different between us and our relatives in Nature: Human babies require more pacifying, thus more attention in that regard. Granted, human babies are in more pain because their needs are greater, being more helpless; and those needs cannot be perfectly satisfied, so they cry about that. And for certain, our infants are required to do more communicating about their needs to try to get them met; for we are more helpless and needy after birth, less able to fend for ourselves. For example, we cannot even turn over or crawl, let alone grasp — as our chimp and gorilla relatives can — until considerably later after birth. PROLOGUE: PRIMAL PSYCHOLOGY, FARTHER REACHES OF EXPERIENCE Page 42 …come out of removing all matrices of prenatal and perinatal life. What is left is What Really Is. The Prenatal Roots of Evil and the New Person In Wounded Deer and Centaurs (2016), I focused specifically on two areas — the roots of evil in the late prenatal experiences of humans and the “necessary hero.” I explained how our imprints from our time of prenatal hell during the third trimester have manifested in the evils of all human times and, most importantly, are bringing about a life-eliminating apocalypse in our lifetimes. I defined the necessary hero as the person required, in our current time of impending apocalypse. I focused on these prenatal influences — especially the imprint of the time in the late stages of pregnancy — on consciousness, society, historical events, and the evil and atrocities of humans. I made the point that that a deeper and more positive human nature exists in all of us prior to that and was crucial to be manifest on a massive scale for the very survival, not just of the human race, but of all life on Earth. Alongside this I stressed the requirement — emanating from this conjunction of an impending apocalypse and the discovery of a more positive, more cooperative, wiser, and more environmentally protective human nature — that people re-discover that more primal human nature.
