it was a very distinctive sound
the pain emanating from you
so why not tell me the story
of your beautiful heart
& how it came to be hurt
for i cannot promise to take
your inner conflict or pain away
but i can lay by your side each night
hold your hand throughout the day
lend you my smile when yours is lost
be there for you
lifting your spirits with my trust
for my arms are here
to envelop your sorrow
to make moments of hope
towards a better tomorrow
so why not tell me the story
of your beautiful heart
& i will help fix your broken pieces
in the loving warmth of my embrace
spare nothing in helping to lift you up
until you no longer feel torn apart

in those precious moments
perceiving that no words are needed
no eloquent speech
for when you gaze at me
truly look at me
the secret is there in your eyes
a love unlike no other
two souls that cannot be together
but if fate found a serendipitous way
i would journey with you anywhere
i would take a voyage with you always
chasing moonlight
stargazing across a silent expanse
as tethered constellations
glisten with hope through our teary eyes
yet no words can be spoken
& my heart
my poor yearning heart
vanishes with those wishes
as though ivy grows over it
smothering & enveloping
withdrawing into dreams of yesterday
as my aspirations of a beautiful forever
dwindle far far away

within love's unfolding dream
we escape
to sunset meadows
~ embracing ~
beneath the iridescent canopy
of wild jasmine nights
breathlessly chasing moonlight sighs
tasting your sweet nectar kisses
& as honey apricot streaks
paint across palimpsest morning skies
we discover a new dawn
welcome a new start
with endless fresh moments
amid our loving aurora smiles
