The allée couverte of Keravel in Roscoff (Finistère) was over 20m long with a 3.5m long lateral entrance passage. By early C20 sections had been robbed and early descriptions saw it as 3 separate dolmens. In 1943 these remains were completely destroyed. #TombTuesday.

For #TombTuesday (where did Monday go?) - one of the axe-polishing stones inside West Kennett long barrow 😮, where people sharpened stone axes during construction (vertical groove, left)
It's also rather a haunting face...

A #StandingStoneSunday that's more a #TombTuesday cry for help. This is stone 1 of Mougau-Bihan allee couverte in Brittany. I can't see engravings that should be visible. See other pics for what should be there and example from elsewhere in this tomb. Stone 1 has me puzzled. Help!
A very late entry for this week’s #TombTuesday and one of the fine collection of tombs found in St Oswald’s Church in Ashbourne. #Derbyshire

#TombTuesday a Bronze Age burial cairn exposed at the edge of a busy path at the Wick on Skomer Island.
The large stony cairn is sited at the very edge of the prehistoric field system, commanding epic sea views across the Pembrokeshire seas

It's #TombTuesday, so let's return to Paisley Abbey, our #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek, to have a look at its two royal tombs.
Unfortunately neither tomb survived the Reformation. The first was reconstructed in the 19th century from architectural fragments and an unknown effigy from the building. 🧵(1/4)
