Our #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek, Central Church in Edinburgh, has a vast and impressive interior. The balcony level was partitioned in 1936 by the firm of Maclennan and Cunningham and the interior still possesses significant high-end early-20th century artistic details.

Let's return to our #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek St Margaret's Scottish Episcopal Church, in Newlands, Glasgow for #FontsOnFriday.

Here's their beautiful marble baptismal font, carved in Italian marble by the Glasgow firm of monumental stonemasons Galbraith & Wilson and dedicated in 1912.

It's #AdoorableThursday and this might be the first revolving door (or "storm door") that we have shared.

This lovely vintage example, intended to ensure as little heat as possible is lost from within, is located at our #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek, St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Newlands, Glasgow.

The heavily European-influenced basilica church, our #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek, St Margaret's, Newlands, possesses an apse at each end of the building, the ceilings of which are decorated with exquisitely colourful mosaics.

In the western apse this was by sculptors Galbraith & Winton, in 1921

Sitting on a prominent elevated position in Glasgow’s south side, is our #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek, St Margaret's Newlands.

It was prolific Scottish architect Peter MacGregor Chalmers who was responsible for the design of this Romanesque revival church, its vestry and church hall.

Our #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek, St Mary's Episcopal, Aberfoyle, has a fine interior.

Eyes are immediately drawn to the striking arched timber roof. Also, the carved oak-panelled reredos, installed in 1950, but bearing the date 1683, is worth mentioning on #WoodensDay.

It's #TombTuesday, so let's return to Paisley Abbey, our #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek, to have a look at its two royal tombs.

Unfortunately neither tomb survived the Reformation. The first was reconstructed in the 19th century from architectural fragments and an unknown effigy from the building. 🧵(1/4)

Paisley Abbey is #ScottishChurchOfTheWeek. 6th century Irish missionary St Mirin is said to have raised a church on a plot near the river where the town of Paisley now stands, known as St Mirin’s Croft Prior. After his death, the church became an important pilgrimage site for the Celtic Church
