The Series continues with this book in your hand, which is the second of three parts of Dance of the Seven Veils. This book, the third volume in The Path of Ecstasy Series, answers the questions, what is the Divine Self? Do we have such an inner core of being that is positive, interactive with the Universe beyond us, helpful and healing, confident, powerful, blissful, and eminently loving? Indeed, do we have such a Self that might be categorized in the Hindu fashion as Satchitanda — meaning Being, Awareness, Bliss? If so, how did we lose it, so that we think we do not? And, how can we get it back? This book is concerned with the time of our lives around birth; however it traces the psychological imprints from that time back into the womb. This work’s elucidation of the experiential realms of the prenatal is, in fact, that which distinguishes it from what has been said about this time around birth, previously, in the field of prenatal and perinatal psychology.

Certainly throughout our lives, and especially in our youth, we must expose ourselves to the different possibilities for us so as to “find ourselves.” One’s life is limited, and it is hard to be anything but unhappy when carrying out preordained directives — prescriptions and proscriptions — given from the outside. That has contributed to many lost lives and miserable existences for far too many of us throughout history. Yet there might have been no alternative to that. Today, not only is there no excuse not to seek a happy life in alignment with what one is most able and wants to do, it is tragic if within this Universal Soup of potentialities — wrought of the postmodern coming together of all cultures and knowledge — one allows oneself to be carried along in dismal obedience to the failed initiatives and fearful injunctives of those around us, of those who controlled and directed us at the time in our life when we had little say in things. To go beyond that is a must if one is to experience fulfillment in life; and to do that one must experiment with life and experience outside the bounds of what one is given. We get a lot out of this immersion in the Cosmic Soup of Experience of what is possible.

These are “strange days indeed.” They are without doubt an unraveling of “the world as we know it.” You will see that in the midst of this, we might perceive it all as an unfolding, not unraveling, an apocalypse in the old-fashioned, archaic meaning of the term as revelation or a breaking down of the old strictures on perception and an opening to an actual cosmic overstanding of ourselves and our place in the Nature and the Divine. Hence, at the end of this, against all expectation, you might just “feel fine” ... or much better than that. No, you will not see everything as rosy after reading this. You will not have learned we have been mistaken about the cataclysmic character of current events. In fact, you will be even more aware of the enormity of the events transpiring and how they have direct bearing on you, your life, and especially the lives of your loved ones. I will hardly help you in your denial and avoidance. Nope. Not any of it. Rather, like finding the eye of the storm, you just might discover your place within these apocalyptic winds. While Sam is actually being tortured to the edge of death, which happens while he is strapped into a chair much like one from a dentist’s office, in which he squirms and struggles to move, which is set in the center of a huge, dome-like, womb-like enclosure; in his imagination only (we find out later) his allies burst in to free him. The dome, we only then discover (or is it wishful thinking? Some kind of deus ... or obstetrician ... ex machina?), is open at the top and the supposed “terrorist” team, who he is wrongly accused of working with, descends on ropes in order to free him. I will forgo, for now, the issue of the acceleration of cesarean birthing procedures in modern times and its contribution to a degrading societal consciousness and global mood, as I have touched on that elsewhere in a more suitable context.2 However I need at least to point out the unmistakable cesarean element in this “birth” (this rescue) through an opening magically appearing in the dome (womb). Where the dome was dimly lit and seemed completely enclosed, suddenly there are lights shining from above onto the face of a startled and squinting Sam. Looking up, he sees a huge hole at the top of the dome, the building now appearing to have more of a shape of the inside of a nuclear cooling tower. Womb (dome) has become more like birth canal or cesarean opening. And from that opening above him, rappelling on ropes, descend the cavalry.

Additionally, this feeling of underlying desperation keeps us in a fear which has us forever gauging our resources and the satisfaction of our wants and desires. In the extreme, we say someone is fixated on money or is someone who is like Donald Trump (lol). And this keeps us unable to enjoy the other aspects of life or to live in, appreciate, and take pleasure in the present ... meaning it keeps us from enjoying our life, really. We might have scrapped and fought to be able to afford fine steaks and expensive foods but be unable to truly taste them, largely because of this distracting fever with its focus on future gain to offset essentially imaginary dire insufficiencies of means. Another way of putting it is that this hellish template of insufficiency keeps us trapped in acting out of its pain grids rather than being able to move and behave in our life and make choices out of what will actually make us happy, which is our joy grids of early womb life. Living in the present and community belongingness and socialism would represent bringing forth our joy grids, and thus be the basis of our happiness. However because of this template of deprivation and fear, many of us cannot let ourselves have that ease and pleasure ... or any for that matter. It contributes as well to submissive and sycophantic behavior. I call anthropocentrism or human superiority to Nature a flat earth assumption because it is equally as obviously true yet ultimately wrong, as well as relative to a perceiver, as is a notion the Earth is flat. Not to mention that seeing Reality outside that assumption of anthropocentrism and acknowledging this species relativity instead would be as momentous and world-changing as was the discovery of the heliocentric nature of our solar system. Incidentally, this assumption of species superiority — species centrism — is also a central component of the Unapproved and Hidden I describe in others of my works.7 To understand species relativity, we can use those same understandings, discussed above, in regard to time, space, and culture relativity. We will see that all of those understandings are true, as well, for the realities created or constituted by our specific physical constitution, our biology, separate as it is for each species. This is biological relativity, and what it adds to our understanding when seen as analogous to the other relativities is that it tells us: a) Our realities can only be understood within the context of our species ... other species could not understand them ... and we cannot really understand the realities of other species ...

Sixteenth Descent — Work A major development came in with hierarchy and its patterns of dominance and submission which was a monumental change in the experience of life of humans. With dominant folks directing affairs, lesser people were brought into line to work toward the satisfaction of the needs of those above and would have little time left over to attend to their own. We created work when we began buying other’s time and selling our own in exchange for survival. This created an onerous existence for humanity which was vastly different from the rich experiences of life that our ancestors, previous to that, had enjoyed.
