A quest for autumn migrants on Saturday took me to the coast south of Dunbar. A heard only Yellow-browed Warbler and a Redstart were then best at Barns Ness, with lots of Little Gulls and a few 'commic' terns and Arctic Skuas offshore. Another vocal but elusive YBW was at Skateraw #BirdingScotland

Slowly coming back down to earth after finding this Siberian Blue Robin in our garden here at Hillwell, Shetland last week. The 5th British record and only the 7th for the Western Palearctic. A Holy Grail moment for sure. #BirdingScotland #UKbirding #RareBirdsUK #Birds #UKWildlife

A quiet place for Teal. They're starting to gather for the winter on the new pools at St Fittick's, which are quite open to give clear views. The males haven't moved to their bright plumage yet but the flash of emerald speculum still breaks the grey-brown.

Unfortunately couldn't find the Torness Yellow-browed Warbler and missed a flock of Cranes there too (Sometimes Birdings just like that Unfortunately).

11 Common Tern, 2 Peregrine, 9 Little Gull, Med Gull and Whimbrel on the way there.
