The #CherokeeStripLandRun, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1893, showed the lie of the #IndianReservations by opening six million acres of #Cherokee grazing lands to white homesteading. It was the fourth and largest #LandRun to steal #reservation lands in what later became #Oklahoma.

The #GritoDeDolores/#CryOfDolores was issued in Dolores, #México, on #ThisDayInHistory in 1810 by #RomanCatholic priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, calling for independence from Spain. #FatherHidalgo stood for ordinary people against élites of both peninsular and creole origin.
