By order of President Claudia Sheinbaum, there will be no cruise ships or deep-draft port in Loreto,” she was quoted as saying.
It is possible to say no.

@portcruisecontrol.bsky.socialPortland's first LNG cruise ship arrived today.
LNG cuts sulfur & soot, but methane leaks. A Cornell study of US-exported LNG found its 20-year climate impact is about 1/3 worse than coal's.
We removed a coal pile from the West End. Now we’re trading it for something worse!

@portcruisecontrol.bsky.socialYou’ve heard of greenwashing? This is whalewashing!
The only safe way to observe whales is from the shore.
End of story.
@shanahstone.bsky.socialTens of thousands of whales die each year when they are hit by ships. To better understand why and how to mitigate the strikes, a British organization has partnered with a massive cruise company to develop research, training, and actionable mitigation measures. #Alaska #CruiseShips

@portcruisecontrol.bsky.socialCruise ships bring quantifiable public health harm into port communities with air pollution.
Marine environments are destroyed with water pollution.
They also bring risks of infectious disease & heinous crime.
