After five days of discussion and knowledge sharing, the 17th EUMETSAT User Forum in Africa has come to a close. 🌍🛰️ A key theme throughout the week has been ensuring that satellite data can be received, accessed and used effectively to strengthen weather and climate services across Africa.

Swept up by atmospheric wind patterns, these mineral particles travel hundreds of km from North Africa towards southern Europe.

Spectacular first images from #Copernicus Sentinel-3C have arrived! 🤩🛰️

Captured two weeks post-launch, initial data covers Central Europe, the Mediterranean, Arctic sea ice & the Bahamas.
The mission will monitor ocean colour, sea level, ice height & surface temperatures.

At a previous User Forum, MTG was still a plan. Today, it is a reality. Together with the African Union Commission and the European Union, we have delivered on that commitment. Participants discussed the added value of the new system and its future evolution.

PUMA-2025 delivered! 🌍🛰️ Over the past two years, every sub-Saharan African country has been equipped with a PUMA-2025 station, enabling national meteorological services to receive and process MTG data distributed via EUMETCast-Africa.
