North Portland, see you Wednesday?
Did some door knocking today for @pnwpolicyangel.bsky.social’s reelection campaign! It was fun to be able to talk about how great it was to work with her office to pass the Inner Eastside for All Resolution <3
Just wrapped up a canvass for @mitchgreen.bsky.social in the little slice of mixed-use, mixed-income, mixed-politics heaven between NW 21st & 23rd.
Here’s to all the @portlandneighborswelcome.org endorsed candidates supporting the right of neighborhoods to evolve in this direction when they need to
Portland: Neighbors Welcome is joining a handful of other housing advocates and co-hosting a happy hour fundraiser for @jameyevenstar.bsky.social next Wednesday at 45th Parallel Wines in St Johns.
Please join us!
I'll be speaking at @yimby.town in Raleigh this November about our efforts to pass a bill for funded Inclusionary Zoning in the Oregon Legislature this last session, a wonky and complicated and nuanced issue that @andersem.bsky.social did a better job summarizing than I ever could
Hey Neighbors, here are our social hours for the rest of the year. They are all in different areas of Portland, so we hope you will be able to make one <3. The next one is TODAY, at Level Beer in East Portland!
Portland: Neighbors Welcome volunteers and board members will be speaking on a handful of panels at YIMBYtown this year!
Willamette Week has a nice article in this week's paper about Accessible Dwelling Units and how these homes allow Portlanders to live near their families:

Very cool that I get to do important things with people who care and we all show up because we have decided that’s how we want to spend our free time. Highly recommend joining @portlandneighborswelcome.org if that sounds like fun to you.
In April, I joined my colleagues @councilorgreen.bsky.social and @councilormorillo.bsky.social and advocates from @portlandneighborswelcome.org to successfully lead the unanimous passage of the Inner Eastside for All resolution.
Community outreach is now ramping up and you can weigh in at the link!
📣 Portland's Inner Eastside Issues & Priorities Survey is now live! BPS wants to hear from anyone who lives, works, or spends time in the area. Make sure your voice gets heard!
My friend’s dad fell down stairs at his apartment building a few years ago and it had a dramatic impact on his health. My grandparents were just in a car accident because their senior community is in the middle of nowhere. Elevator reform is the answer to preventing all of this.
I have a confession to make. The townhomes I & others spent most of a decade trying to legalize are popping up all over Oregon & elsewhere...and I love that...but they're a problem in one big way.
(get ready for a twisty thread about the housing report @sightline.org just published)
I was part of PNW’s endorsement process in 2024, and I have to say this year the process was so much more thorough and deliberate, with volunteers dedicating a ton of time and effort. I urge you to go to our website to read more about our thoughts on this election.
We hope this information will factor into your evaluation as you fill out the 6 spots on your ballot this November, but you should of course weigh how each candidate sits on other issues that matter to you. Our emails, and happy hours are open!
We are working to create homes for current and future Portlanders of all ages, wages, and stages of life. We're excited to partner with our endorsed candidates over the next two years to pass our ambitious policy agenda, particularly Inner Eastside for All, a campaign we began working on in 2022.
Our webpage also includes information about our process, full questionnaire responses for all 18 candidates who applied for our endorsement, and some notable information about select candidates who we did not endorse.
We appreciate people's questions about our endorsements. The volunteers who scored, interviewed, and evaluated candidates wrote additional information about their choices on our webpage: portlandneighborswelcome.org/2026-portlan...
