In my first meeting with the Mayor he said I must be intimidating for boys to date. These people are inappropriate all the time!!! They’re just sometimes? More soft spoken? And they’re better and presenting different faces. I just unfortunately am the same in every room lmao

It’s not inherently ageist or sexist to give feedback on decorum. It *is* when you have different standards for different types of people, and expect those less powerful who receive our behavior to just endure.

When the paper of record endorses abusers of staff like it’s nothing but relentlessly chided me on decorum, the unspoken here is that it’s ok to be rude, aggressive, abusive, so long as it’s not to other people in power. The line I cross is I don’t mind pushing back on the powerful.

Honestly was not expecting an endorsement at all so I credit this to me undeniably and relentlessly passing good policy, and I don’t mind being held accountable. That includes being held to account in the same ways and with the same severity as everyone else.

The Oregonian gave me the most begrudging endorsement of all time, said I was a force to be reckoned with, and then basically said it was begrudging because I’m sassy? Wrote a sentence about my work, and then wrote ten paragraphs about my sass.

Kent Ford endorsed Mitch Green for reelection. Mr. Ford has been fighting for his community for more than 60 years in Portland, establishing survival programs for basic needs like food and health care, and challenging racist government and state sanctioned violence from local police and feds.

Seeing formerly homeless people celebrate their own wins & journey matters to most anyone who struggles to make ends meet and survive, whether theyve been homeless or not. I'm so proud to live in a city with at least one elected official who has been homeless before & advocates for all who are now.
