Yah, great question that the governor should be answering instead of leaving us all in the dark. We get press conferences about sports teams instead of press conferences about children’s education. She’s choosing what to prioritize and what to communicate at a time when people are in real need.

I am advocating that we stop spending tens of millions in providing shelter (which is the job of the County) and redirect those dollars to rent assistance and funding land and building acquisition for publicly owned mixed-income housing.

Too many people are one more bill increase away from a missed rent payment. I refuse to believe there isn’t anything the city can do about this. I’d rather we stop construction right now and let a partially built building waste away than pretend like this won’t make more people homeless.
