We all know getting a degree is not a guarantee to a successful career. But how often are students completing an assignment just to complete a task? Or to get the grade? How much more equipped would students be for their career if they treated their school work like a portfolio?

There are few things that strike me as more beautiful then the sky. The contrasting clouds with the plane makes for an outstanding painting. I find that when life seems hard there is always blue skies ahead this is what helps me stay successful when school gets hard. #UVU #Comm3140

Recently I have been inspired by so many people in my life that despite the difficult things that come their way, they keep going.

It can be scary, hard, discouraging, and tiring, but the consistency and determination is what changes the game.

I spend a good deal of time with the students in the painting and printmaking BFA at UVU. My wife is in the program and I help her often with her work. I can say with certainty, UVU has some of the most talented art students in the country. They need to invest in their art department! #UVU #Comm3140

After years of struggling against the basic ADHD tip of "just use a planner", I finally got one to use this semester. It's shocking how much it helps - simply setting aside some time on Mondays to look through my week and mentally prepare for it has made school much less stressful! #UVU #Comm3140

Exactly! As an amateur writer and artist, I find beauty in the process of creation. I'll end up connecting to an artist and learning from them, then using that to improve my own work. AI "art" is inherently derivative. I cannot learn from or connect to it in any meaningful way.

One of my favorite parts of being a Communication student at UVU is getting to take what I learn in class and apply it directly to my career. I’m constantly finding connections between school and the work I’m doing now. It makes finishing my degree feel even more meaningful! 🎓
