We all know getting a degree is not a guarantee to a successful career. But how often are students completing an assignment just to complete a task? Or to get the grade? How much more equipped would students be for their career if they treated their school work like a portfolio?

While streaming services make for more convenient listening and democratized entertainment, we have lost the plot in listening to a body of work from start to finish that was required when you bought a physical album. #UVU #Comm3140

I have many career goals and avenues I hope to take professionally. Yet above all, I hope to do some good in the world! I think it’s incredibly important to build community, support others, and make a change. #UVU #Comm3140

Utah Valley University has taught me how important community is. They’re are people with all different backgrounds and interests, but it still brings people together. When I walk onto UVU campus, I know that my opinion, opinions and voice matter. #COMM3140 #UVU

What an awesome painting! It’s so cool to see a how there is a light shining in the mist. It really shows how even in our darkest times we can still find a light in the darkness. #COMM3140 #UVU

Few things have taught me how to deal with hardship quite how running has. It has been one of my greatest enemies and yet also one of my greatest joys. I hope the feeling of success running creates by doing hard things carries over to other aspects of my life. #UVU #Comm3140

There are few things that strike me as more beautiful then the sky. The contrasting clouds with the plane makes for an outstanding painting. I find that when life seems hard there is always blue skies ahead this is what helps me stay successful when school gets hard. #UVU #Comm3140

Here we are a year later and this post has still not received enough attention. Eventually there will come a time where there won't be someone to answer the call and then and only then, something will be done. We need to be proactive and not reactive. #UVU #COMM3140

Don’t be afraid to keep moving <3

Recently I have been inspired by so many people in my life that despite the difficult things that come their way, they keep going.

It can be scary, hard, discouraging, and tiring, but the consistency and determination is what changes the game.

Thank you for starting a conversation like this.
Education, consent, human decency, and respect… these should be the standard, the bare minimum.

I spend a good deal of time with the students in the painting and printmaking BFA at UVU. My wife is in the program and I help her often with her work. I can say with certainty, UVU has some of the most talented art students in the country. They need to invest in their art department! #UVU #Comm3140

A great man (Ted Lasso's dad) once said "Be Curious, not judgmental. That line of thinking brings us great men like Zohran Mamdani. Such a class individual who truly cares about the people around him. #UVU #Comm3140

After years of struggling against the basic ADHD tip of "just use a planner", I finally got one to use this semester. It's shocking how much it helps - simply setting aside some time on Mondays to look through my week and mentally prepare for it has made school much less stressful! #UVU #Comm3140

Exactly! As an amateur writer and artist, I find beauty in the process of creation. I'll end up connecting to an artist and learning from them, then using that to improve my own work. AI "art" is inherently derivative. I cannot learn from or connect to it in any meaningful way.

When I talk to music-lovers in my area, the one thing they ALWAYS talk about is how important community is.

There's nothing like watching your friend perform at a festival, or going to an open mic nights. These aren't things AI can give us.

support local artists! 🩵

This summer, I got to work with one of my friends to have a photoshoot for my new EP, High Tide!

It was so much fun to work with someone who could understand and execute a similar creative vision!!

Anyway, here are some of the photos! And steam High Tide 🌊☀️⚓️

One of my favorite parts of being a Communication student at UVU is getting to take what I learn in class and apply it directly to my career. I’m constantly finding connections between school and the work I’m doing now. It makes finishing my degree feel even more meaningful! 🎓

Attending UVU, I have been so grateful to be able to further my education. I have found really putting my effort into school and telling myself I am smart and capable, has totally changed my mindset. School isn’t always easy but always putting in my best effort will take me far! #UVU #Comm3140

I absolutely love seeing people do what they LOVE! it is importsnt to be unapologetically you, and continuing to do what you love, no matter the age! #UVU #Comm3140
