Back in the #Chinese #cdrama binge! Some #cdramas I am currently watching/planning to watch:

• #TheEarlySpring
• #GuardiansOfTheDafeng
• #Blossom
• #FatedHearts
• #Feud
• #NewLifeBegins
• #FlourishedPeony
• #TillTheEndOfTheMoon
• #TheStoryOfMingLan

If you like the main theme of “live well” in the historical cdrama #AgainstTheCurrent, you might also like:

#BlossomsInAdversity
#LesBelles
#FlourishedPeony
#Glory
#NewLifeBegins
#TheStoryOfMinglan

For Jialan it’s different: survival & adaptation come first, as in #TheStoryOfMinglan

But as she gains agency, I suspect her family’s unresolved injustice becomes more important - especially given her relationship with the Lins & their role in what happened; #BlossomsInAdversity also comes to mind

I don’t know if you seen dramas like #TheStoryOfMinglan, #TheSwordAndTheBrocade, etc? This one feels slightly similar in mood to those, meaning there will be some tough times to start with before things improve

But already by the 4th or 5th episodes she’s dealing with trouble competently 👍

It’s really good so far 🙂, but it’s not a light drama

As @tinacmml.bsky.social said, it’s very much in the vein of #TheSwordAndTheBrocade & #TheStoryOfMinglan

There will be pain in the near term, but (I trust!) a big pay-off eventually 👍

#cdrama #AgainstTheCurrent

#LiMeng as Lady Zhao seems more complex & her arc more interesting as thought.
And she's only in mdl as guest 🤔
In summary after ep5 I think writing, atmosphere & cinematography reminds of #TheStoryOfMinglan & #TheSwordAndTheBrocade
So if you liked these I'd give it a try

A #cdrama for each season:

- Winter: #DeepAffectionEyes
- Spring: #TheStoryOfMinglan
- Summer: #LesBelles
- Autumn: #FatedHearts
