Tragically, this hunger for power has breached the walls of the church.Today, we see many so-called conservative Christians misusing Scripture—specifically passages like Matthew 11:12—to justify hurting their enemies, taking power by force, or coercing others into their specific interpretations of the Bible. They try to fashion a gospel out of political strength and earthly rule. But church, let us be completely clear: political dominance is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Many so-called conservative Christians misuse Matthew 11:12 to justify hurting their enemies, taking power by force, or forcing their interpretation of Scripture onto others. That is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight” (John 18:36 KJV).
