In a similar way, in adopting this radical heroic stance one risks all the usual and comfortable societal and family relationships one has forged. As Alobar, the king, did in leaving his culture, this new hero, this necessary hero, risks losing the rewards of normality; she or he risks losing her friends, her family, even her society and community of origin. One makes this choice to do a different way, to not be anything like that which one opposes; one does it, initially, alone. Risking ostracism, the woman leaves her husband and returns to school to follow her most righteous dreams. Risking jail, even death, the hero stands in front of the tank. But in telling fashion, in order to make the higher “community” sacrifice the anima elements that have been let go of, symbolized by Meg Ryan as the anima damsel, Patricia, end up going with Joe to his chosen fate and are borne up, renewed, along with him. What one has risked is not lost after all, but one does not know that ahead of time.

At any rate, the mother, being clung to, appears unaffected and seemingly absent-minded, or watching and monitoring its environ- ment and the behavior of others in the social group in its vicinity.

Do not think this means planetmate mothers are detached and unfeeling toward their infants. Quite the contrary! They will show such a dedication to the care of their youngest as to put many human mothers (not all) to shame. Mother and child will stay together for life, in some species. Planetmate mothers have been known to die of grief if their infant dies. Just that the crucial and delicate time of infant vulnerability for humans has been gone beyond for our pri- mate relatives, during their time in the womb. They are “past all that.” This delicate time, this “external gestation” for humans re- quires incredibly more focus on the part of human mothers. The bonding that results from all that effort and mothering has some salutary benefits. The fact that it cannot be done perfectly? As it is done for primates during their corresponding development which occurs in the womb? Well, not so much.

In the next book in this Path of Ecstasy Series, Womb with a View, I will expand on the very important topic, introduced in this work, of womb experiences, which create our world of seemingly irrefutable beliefs, which therefore guide everything we do. Its explication begins, however, in this project in Veil Six.

Then, in Cells with a View, which is the book to follow that in the Series, I will detail how our basic metaphysical assumptions about Reality, especially in its physical aspect, for example, duality, space and time, being and becoming, and so on, are imprinted upon us through our cellular experiences in coming into the world. In looking at these matrices embedded in us, especially through our cellular and womb and birth experiences, it will be possible to have our best chance to get a look at existence outside of these matrices — the No-Form State. Until you see how we are, as you continue to read in this book, at this point, for one moment, just imagine a person from a previous time in history being somehow transported into this time and being made to understand the impending forces: environmental collapse, species extinction, nuclear threat, population explosion, potential virulent epidemics on a worldwide scale far more deadly than the Black Death of the Middle Ages, human-caused earthquakes and thus tsunamis, planet poisoning, and so on.

Unless this person was Nostradamus, we can imagine this person would be hugely alarmed, to say the least. This person might well wonder at our nonchalance, or should we say apathy, in the face of such likely, not just potential, apocalypse.
