Our tranquil coastal scene stretches beneath a vast, cloudless blue sky. The photograph is composed vertically, with the horizon positioned low in the frame, giving the sky a strong sense of openness and scale. I spotted this Neotropic Cormorant perched on a wooden post in the waters of the Laguna Madre. Its colorful eye was shining in the morning light, a beautiful contrast to its dark feathers.
