Want that shallow depth-of-field look? Depth Blur softens part of the scene by depth, while the subject and its edges stay clearer than a whole-frame blur.

Looking slightly up into a yellow glass light fixture, the arc of the shade's edge curves downward, showing just the bottom portion of a 40-watt light bulb curving upward. The printing on the bottom of the bulb is crisp while the shade is soft focus. A very minimal composition.

Morning #BlueSky ☕️ I hope unlike my capture, your week to come proves to be less dramatic & more peaceful. Have a beautiful day friends ☺️ #ECK

Our photography shows a dramatic countryside scene deep in rural Ireland, with wide, gently rolling fields stretching towards the horizon. The foreground is bordered by a lush, slightly blurred hedgerow of grasses, wild plants and dense green bushes. Beyond it lies a vast golden-brown field of ripened crops, its gentle curves following the contours of the landscape. Scattered along the distant fields are mature Irish trees, standing individually or in small groups, with more hedgerows marking the boundaries between the farmland. The horizon is low and open, giving the landscape a wonderful sense of space and tranquillity. Above the fields is the dominant feature of the photograph. A magnificent, deep-blue sky filled with towering white and grey clouds. Brilliant sunlight illuminates the enormous cloud formations, creating striking contrasts between their glowing white tops and darker, stormier undersides. Patches of vivid blue sky break through between the clouds. The combination of golden farmland, rich green hedgerows and an immense, ever-changing sky captures the raw beauty and peaceful character of the Irish countryside. Finally, our picture today is finished with a simple white border frame.

#DepthOfField is that rare kind of highschool #jBL where there is no entertainment park/aquarium date, no top secretly having a crush, no isolated character finally finding friends, no typically character types.

Instead a musician and a photographer accidentally meet and fall in love over time.

Morning #BlueSky ☕️ & welcome to this silent sentinel as it watches over our local ancient cemetery. Have a reflective day friends ☺️ #ECK #ThickTrunkTuesday #ClassicMono

Our atmospheric photograph captures an old cemetery, dominated by the immense, weathered trunk of a mature tree. The image is presented in a rich sepia tone, giving it a timeless, nostalgic, almost haunting quality. In the centre of the photograph stands the tree, its thick, deeply ridged bark revealing years of growth and exposure to the elements. The trunk rises from the lower foreground and divides into several substantial branches, which spread outwards and upwards. A network of twisting, slender branches creates a dense canopy of shadows, obscuring much of the sky above. To the left of the tree, rows of weathered gravestones extend into the background. Some are tall and ornate, featuring decorative stonework and pointed tops, while others are smaller and more subdued. The pale stone contrasts with the dark tree trunk and surrounding shadows. On the right, a narrow, gently curving pathway leads deeper into the cemetery, disappearing among additional gravestones and trees. The path is bordered by grass, low vegetation, and patches of shadow. Soft, diffused light filters through the branches, illuminating parts of the tree's textured bark and the distant headstones. The lower portion of the image is particularly dark, with the tree's roots and surrounding vegetation fading into deep shadow. This contrast between light and darkness creates a sense of solitude, reflection, and the passage of time. Overall, the photograph portrays the cemetery as a quiet place where nature and memory coexist, with the ancient tree standing as a powerful symbol of endurance, remembrance, and the enduring passage of generations. Finally, our picture today is finished with a simple white border frame.
