It’s pink foot season again. Love when they start pouring over the house with the occasional bird dropping in to say hello! This one was photographed on the edge of our pond in autumn 2025. #geese #autumn #birdingscotland

Several hours into a pub crawl in the south mainland of Shetland I had a call about an Egyptian Nightjar at Virkie. I was in disbelief, we were in the Ness Boating Club just 200 meters away! What a bird!

Video from night two.

Does anyone ever see Hen Harriers at RSPB Lochwinnoch? They used to be seen fairly often, but I don't recall seeing any mention of them this year at all. #BirdingScotland

I wasn't really trying for migrants today so was pleased to find this Spotted Flycatcher lurking in a sheltered spot at St Fittick's Park.

Glossy Ibis have been the main feature of the last few days on Tiree. Difficult to know how many individuals there's been, but probably at least 14. This bird at Cornaigbeg showed very well in the driving rain this pm. The Baird's Sandpiper still present today too. #birdingscotland
