After today’s picture description, l have written a poem for this capture. A tranquil rural landscape is captured at sunset. The low sun glows intensely near the left edge of the image, casting warm golden light across a broad grassy field. A narrow, dark pathway begins in the foreground and leads gently into the distance, drawing the eye towards a line of silhouetted trees and softly rolling hills on the horizon. Large mature trees frame the scene from above and along the left side, their branches and leaves forming intricate dark silhouettes against the colourful sky. The sky transitions from deep blue and dusky mauve overhead to rich orange and gold around the setting sun, with delicate clouds catching the fading light. The foreground is largely in shadow, creating a strong contrast with the brilliant horizon and giving the photograph a peaceful, contemplative atmosphere. And finally, our picture is finished with a simple white border frame. And now for my poem… I call it …Where the Day Meets the Night The sun slips quietly beneath the distant hills, leaving gold upon the fields and fire within the sky. Above me, ancient branches hold the evening like a secret, their leaves becoming silhouettes against the fading light. A path disappears into shadow, inviting footsteps towards somewhere unseen. For a moment, day and night stand together one refusing to leave, the other waiting patiently. And in that brief meeting, the landscape seems to whisper: “Nothing truly ends; it simply changes its light”

A highly minimalist winter landscape stretches beneath a vast, pale cream-coloured sky.
