Thanks to Professor Nicholas Orme, we are pleased to share draft texts of around 40 medieval monastic and religious foundations in #Devon which will form part of our second volume on the county in due course.

Such a privilege to work with the fantastic researchers involved in these projects. They are full of community spirit & rigorous research, and all demonstrate the value of studying places throughout time, their landscapes & communities. Long live the @vch-home.bsky.social

This is indeed exciting. I remember when I was in grad school and working on an exhibition at the BL, one of the curators introduced me to the shelf of red VCH books, a resource I’d not been introduced to. Was so valuable for my research. And continues to be.
