Had a lovely day visiting sites in Monmouthshire with @drtobydriver.bsky.social and @churchillarch.bsky.social
Our 1st stop was prompted by an interesting artefact reported to PAS Cymru, and the 2nd was Ysgyryd Fawr to check out the Iron Age earthworks still visible along the trail ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ
Ahhh I love it!!! Bovril is so much cuter in colour ๐คฉ so creative!
How did prehistoric cultures perceive remarkable natural stones in the landscape?
I came across this incredible perched glacial erratic nr Cregennan Lakes yesterday in upland Gwynedd which closely resembles some regional Neolithic tombs ๐ง
One for #TombTuesday

An unusual request in the name of archaeological science: Would anyone happen to have a Shetland or Exmoor pony that wouldnโt mind sending some fur samples to me? Weโre trying to compare a potentially preserved fur specimen but thereโs (perhaps unsurprisingly) few sources on fur fibre diameters!
