I first met Ahmad Alia in 2012; upon my transfer from Palestine branch to 215. He was responsible for “welcoming” detainees. I and other women detained at the 215, including my younger sister, all suffered from his abuses. He is accused of SGBV, torture & killing more than 500 detainees

to be clear, the admin is alleged to have deported AT LEAST 25,447 individuals TO COUNTRIES THAT ARE NOT THEIR OWN with, evidently, ZERO PROTECTIONS. this is a scandal and crime of historic proportions.
the @forbidden-stories.bsky.social investigation is so deeply important. put the illegality to one side. the trump admin is brazenly sending ppl to third countries, lacking any cxn, without any guarantee they won't be sent on for torture, abuse, persecution... it's horrible.
Why sorry? I genuinely like and appreciate research ethics protocols. It strengthens what we do and how we do it to prevent harm.
At @citizenlab.ca we spend enormous time labouring over the ethical and legal limits to our investigative methods (for good reason!)
