Y'all, I have never been more excited watching a game get made. @benjamage.bsky.social, @waveparadigm.com, @alexrochonva.bsky.social and the rest of the Calico team are cooking up something pretty darn incredible.

Get slimed ๐Ÿ’™ #calicowilder #calicowilderandthecrystalblade #indiegames #gamedev

The protagonists of the upcoming indie game Calico Wilder and the Crystal Blade, except I've drawn them as slimes because I guess that's what I do now.

Calico is a yellow slime with orange fluffy hair and catlike ears. He's riding on the flaming magical crystal blade, similar to how he throws it to lock on targets in the demo.

Lilly is a red slime with red scarf-like hair and catlike ears, positioned beneath Calico. She's looking upward towards him from below.

Play endacopia For the love of god play endacopia

The main character of the indie horror point and click adventure game Endacopia, rendered as a very painterly styled slime

(We became slimes!)

#chiikawa

Hachiware, Usagi, and Chiikawa are now little translucent slimes with no mouths, similar to the slimes we have in our upcoming indie game Slime 64 c:

For now, I've got key art for mine and @waveparadigm.com's dev slimesonas! You might be able to find us and the rest of the Slime Team crew in the full game hopping around if you look hard enough c:

#slime64

Left: My slime is cerulean blue in color, with a blob shape at the top made to look like bangs. I have little emerald "slimerings" since slimes don't have ears, and rimless rectangle glasses

Right: Adam's slime is gray with a big gray wizard hat, thicker eyebrows and big square orange tinted glasses for blue light filtering

Demo Available: Calico Wilder and the Crystal Blade
Genre: 3D Platformer
Wishlist: store.steampowered.com/app/4638630/...

The demo focuses on movement, and boy was it intuitive, tight, and expressive! It's short, so I hope we get more test levels in the future!

Just finished a second playthrough, and the sentiment remains. Play Mr. Sleepy Man.

I bought igtap last night and then blacked out and I suddenly had 5 hours in the game and it was 2am y'all should be super proud - great concept and execution

Remembered how much I adore @terminalmontage.bsky.social's The Fruitless Quests of Nabiu after having our monthly bingewatch of his channel.

Absolutely charming character designs, and the animation is stellar as always. Karoto is a darling, and we can't wait to see more c: ๐Ÿ’™ #indieanimation

episode 2 of my Roman empire is here. unbelievable value for $6 lmao

4. Finally, and this may be a tougher one on the implementation side: to me each movement state looks like it has a "target speed" that the character very quickly snaps to. This makes the sense of momentum feel very jerky to me - possible to blend to new speed over more time? esp when fast -> slow

@waveparadigm.comSep 18, 2026, 6:14 AM

3. If I'm understanding correctly, you throw the disk into the ground and then by running into it you bounce. A more exaggerated throw, a particle burst where the disk lands, and a glowing particle field to convey bounce direction could maybe help readability and make it feel even more satisfying

@waveparadigm.comSep 18, 2026, 6:12 AM

2. Play with the character model's scale! By having a scale pivot at the bottom of the mesh, you can squish the model upwards when jumping and downwards when landing to help loosen up what otherwise might feel a bit stiff. When stretching upwards the horizontal scale should shrink to preserve volume

Love the environment art! A few unsolicited ideas as a fellow 3D platformer developer (these are about the game in general): 1. Try loosening up the camera! Rather than following the player object directly, have it follow a ghost object that tracks 1:1 laterally, but more slowly tracks vertically

Mr. Sleepy Man is a DELIGHT. Just, constantly revealing flexes and structural surprises that would be finale material in any other game. Wow.

Read as little as you can ahead of time.
