In @rollingstone.com, I talked with @thorbenson.bsky.social about the new climate assessment priorities work led by Melissa Kenney, @bobkopp.net, and me. I said, “Just because a threat is not articulated by the federal govt doesn’t mean the threat’s going away”. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

Having long been aware of those tech bros who read my work as utopian porn, where they’ve taken that doesn’t exactly surprise me.

Pam is a critical player in the grassroots efforts to sustain US scientists' involvement in the IPCC despite federal withdrawal, and is the founding steering committee chair for the US Academic Alliance for the IPCC, a network of observer universities hosted by AGU that facilitates such involvement

For @agu.org members --

I am excited to see that my Rutgers colleague @pammcelwee.bsky.social is a candidate for AGU's Board of Directors, ballots for which just went out.

The Constitution allows it. South Korea has proven it works. If you want to make impeachment viable—and so much else is pointless if you don't—then it can be done by a simple majority adopting a simple rules change: vote on the verdict by secret ballot.

Whenever I see a current or former university president in the news for sexual misconduct, I think of this chart from 2015. (ABC seems to have pulled down the original Five Thirty Eight article, but here’s a Feministing blog about it.)
