Happy #JumpingSpiderDay! I'm not sure what species this one is, maybe genus Hentzia? Seen on the Michelle Obama Trail in DeKalb County, GA.

Close-up of a shiny jumping spider on the underside of a leaf. The spider has a long abdomen covered with what seems to be a coating of pale red and white shimmering short hairs, with dark gray and white on the cephalothorax. The spider faces the camera with a row of round black eyes, the two in front the larger pair of the four. The spider's chelicerae and legs are transparent white. The leaf underside is pale green with many thin, bright medium green veins tracing an intricate mosaic. The spider sits on the leaf's thick midrib from which rows of shiny white, short spikes protrude.

I totally spaced out on #Arachtober yesterday, and today it’s world #JumpingSpiderDay. A female Apache Jumping Spider, Phidippus apacheanus, with sawfly prey, on the restroom at Cottonwood Picnic Area, Cimarron National Grassland, near Elkhart, Kansas, USA. #bugsky #bugwatching

Compact spider, hairy, dull orange on top, otherwise black, facing left, and holding a black and red sawfly in her jaws. Spider is on a restroom building.

#Arachtober 10th is also #JumpingSpiderDay.

I found this Bold Jumping Spider (Phidippus audax) while doing the #CityNatureChallenge with my girlfriend. She had to help me get prickly pear spines out of my pants shortly after this shot.
