Happy #JumpingSpiderDay! I'm not sure what species this one is, maybe genus Hentzia? Seen on the Michelle Obama Trail in DeKalb County, GA.

The spider has a long abdomen covered with what seems to be a coating of pale red and white shimmering short hairs, with dark gray and white on the cephalothorax. The spider faces the camera with a row of round black eyes, the two in front the larger pair of the four. The spider's chelicerae and legs are transparent white. The leaf underside is pale green with many thin, bright medium green veins tracing an intricate mosaic. The spider sits on the leaf's thick midrib from which rows of shiny white, short spikes protrude.

A common species in #Scotland, but this is the first time I've had the pleasure of finding Salticus scenicus in my back garden. This inquisitive one was hunting on a plant pot, and the contrasting glaze made for a nice #portrait!
