【KAMIHITO Today’s Word 2026.10.11】 ~ Steady, Unceasing Progress ~ In all things, it is essential never to rush and to keep taking steady, unceasing steps day by day. For when you face one thing and continue to refine it steadily and carefully, a precious radiance is born—not one measured by comparison with others, but one that only you can radiate. "Persistence is power." "Even dust, when piled up, becomes a mountain." "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." "Dripping raindrops wear through stone." "Drops gathered together become a deep pool." "Even a small stream eventually becomes a great river." I offer my gratitude for the precious words of spirit (kototama) that those who came before us passed down across countless years to future generations. 【KAMIHITO Today’s Word 2026.10.10】 ~ The Mirror of Emotions That Reflects Who You Are ~ Envy, jealousy, resentment, grudges, bitterness, aversion, sarcasm…… These are words that refer to typical negative emotions people harbor toward others. However, if one becomes caught up in these emotions and continues to be immersed in that state, one’s vessel of humanity will also become colored by the qualities that match the wavelength of those emotions, and will change in proportion to them. What we focus on and what we think differ greatly from person to person; they are not the same for everyone. That is precisely why the very fact that you choose which emotion to embrace and hold on to from among countless possibilities unmistakably reflects the state of your heart as it is right now. 【KAMIHITO Today’s Word 2026.10.8】 ~ Savoring Life ~ If we kept eating nothing but sweet things, even the very emotion of our hearts trembling with “Delicious!” would gradually fade and become faint. That is precisely why cooking is so deep and interesting: it is woven from diverse flavors—saltiness, sourness, spiciness, bitterness, and astringency, as well as strong and mild flavors, and even the range of sometimes finding things delicious and sometimes not tasty. Isn’t it because of such ups and downs and contrasts that the joy of tasting a single bite of sweetness stands out all the more? It seems to me that this closely resembles the relationships we weave day by day and the way all kinds of events unfold in our lives. The answer to that fundamental question is to experience all things, learn deeply, and transform ourselves. In other words, we are born and live on this earth precisely to achieve the evolution of our souls. The anguish that feels as though it tears us apart, the sorrow that brings tears that will not stop, the indignation with nowhere to go, the joy that makes our hearts leap, the warmth filled with tender affection, and the enjoyment that makes our hearts dance…… To experience firsthand all the changes in emotion and thought that we encounter, and, through them, to polish the vessel of our humanity, so that we may become beings who hold within themselves a greater and deeper heart of loving compassion—for this, all people who are alive are each undergoing precious training within the setting they have been given. Your choice will naturally reveal itself in keeping with your spirituality: whether to wish for the realization of a “truly good world” where all living beings live in harmony and share happiness with one another, or to wish for a “selfish world of domination” where others are subjugated for the sake of one’s own superiority and self-preservation. The direction of Earth’s future is not entrusted solely to a select few in power. It is the accumulation of the desires held by each and every Earthling living on this planet, and it is woven by the quality of the collective consciousness that we continue to send out each day. What kind of world do you wish for now, and what kind of consciousness will you weave? It can also be said that it is precisely because your values change that the scenery of the world you see and the shape of the future will all change completely. If, in your present circumstances, you are unable to find joy from the bottom of your heart, before you worry yourself sick, all you need to do is try changing things one by one, starting with what you can change with your own hands. For the state in which you can truly feel from your heart, “It is fun to be alive right now!” is the true you, as you are meant to be. 【KAMIHITO Today’s Word 2026.10.4】 ~ Where Assumptions Come From ~ Perhaps the first reason you came to hold that assumption was that, somewhere along the way, someone told you something, or you saw or were made to read something, or you were treated in a certain way. With what intention did that “someone” speak those words, write those texts, and carry out those actions? What if that person, driven by deeply personal and biased emotions or attachments, spoke and acted that way to drag those around them in for their own convenience? Unless you seek out for yourself what the objective truth is and whether something is true or false, you will remain manipulated by that person’s intentions, and without even realizing it, you will continue to be led in ways that suit them. In order to discern the truth of things, just as in a trial, you must not blindly accept the words of only one side. Unless you make sure to listen fairly to what both sides have to say, you will never know what is true and what is false. It is the same as continuing to lie to yourself, and in time it becomes a weakness in your own heart that can even threaten your very footing. To protect your position, to keep your business going, to stay ahead of others, to be liked and accepted by someone …… But if there were a world where you could be accepted and loved by those around you just as you are, as your true self, how much easier and more comfortable would life be? The thoughts adults hold, the words they speak, their manners and daily actions, and even the way they live—every move adults make continues to have an immeasurable influence on children’s hearts, without their even realizing it. If we wish for a happy future for children, more than teaching and instructing them with words, we must keep showing them what it means to be good human beings, through how we live our lives. I think that it is precisely the accumulation of these quiet daily practices that, as a result, steadily leads to “the mending of the world.” Mina mina ureshi ureshi tanoshi tanoshi kawaru kawaru arigatai arigatai ai wo itadaki sashiage hirogaru◎ KAMIHITO 拝

【KAMIHITO Today’s Word 2026.9.30】 ~ A Life That Becomes More Interesting with Age ~ Life becomes more interesting as we grow older. This is because the true meaning of the words left behind by those who came before us and by our elders gradually sinks deeper into our hearts as we advance in age. As the things we once did as a matter of course become things we can no longer do, one by one, we come to know what is truly irreplaceable and precious. As the excessive confidence of our younger days is stripped away, we naturally come to feel humility deep within our hearts. Our once-sharp words soften and turn into a courteous way of speaking, and the occasions when we feel like bowing our heads to others naturally increase. Wrapped in the humility of feeling apologetic and the gratitude of feeling thankful, we also become able to deeply savor the seasons of life, quietly gaze at the scenery around us, and walk slowly, one step at a time. That is precisely why growing old is equal to being granted a profound joy in life. Mina mina ureshi ureshi tanoshi tanoshi kawaru kawaru arigatai arigatai ai wo itadaki sashiage hirogaru◎ KAMIHITO 拝

Exploring those possibilities from many angles may well be the challenge of "now" that has been given to us. It is just like enjoying "how we can use our ingenuity to make a delicious meal," using only limited ingredients and cookware, and the environment at hand. In an environment where everything is provided and we are blessed with more than enough, new ideas and creative ingenuity are, on the contrary, less likely to arise. Rather, precisely because there are constraints that leave us a little short, we mobilize all our wisdom, asking, "How can we make up for it, and how can we give it shape?" This, too, becomes an irreplaceable opportunity for learning. Whatever the conditions may be, let us enjoy the "now" of each moment. 【KAMIHITO Today’s Word 2026.9.26】 ~ Infinite Perspectives and the Whole Picture of Truth ~ There is only one truth. However, there are infinite ways of perceiving that truth. Depending on how we receive an event we have experienced and how we express it, the way it is conveyed to those around us changes into something completely different. Therefore, even if people experience the very same event, the impressions they form will inevitably differ because of differences in their individual perspectives and ways of expressing themselves. Furthermore, even for the same person, their impressions and ways of receiving an experience will naturally change depending on when they experience it and on their physical and mental condition at that particular time. That is precisely why it may also be said that the whole picture of truth cannot truly be understood unless diverse people continue accumulating experiences over a long period of time in various conditions. 【KAMIHITO Today’s Word 2026.9.25】 ~ Healthy Boundary-Setting ~ There are as many different sets of values as there are people, and as many different sets of values as there are living beings. Every life exists carrying its own values. Therefore, if everyone insists only on their own values and confronts one another over good and evil, or superiority and inferiority, it is only natural that conflicts and friction will arise. By learning from early childhood “how to set healthy boundaries” that enable us to acknowledge one another with the understanding that “everyone is fine just as they are,” might we not be able to deepen our understanding of beings different from ourselves, and build a new earthly society where we can share “the art of truly coexisting and living together”? 【KAMIHITO Today's Word 2026.9.24】 ~ The Trap of Values ~ The “values” people hold are, for the most part, probably formed within the scope of their own experiences. When it comes to things they have never experienced, they tend to find it difficult to readily accept them and are apt to make negative judgments. Feeling anxious or fearful and becoming skeptical about unknown territory is also an extremely natural human reaction. An opportunity to move closer to new values arises when one has curiosity and a spirit of inquiry; without them, one falls into the same pattern of behavior as avoiding foods one has never tasted and continuing to choose only familiar foods. Moreover, if false information had been deliberately implanted beforehand, one would come to see that subject only through negatively tinted glasses from the very start. In the real world, I cannot help but feel that far too many such cunning traps have been set all around us. This is because it is convinced that it alone is genuine and has become overconfident. In other words, this is nothing other than a state of lacking the eyes to discern what truly has value. Or, because its own falseness would be exposed if it did not fiercely deny what is genuine, it schemes and plots behind the scenes. “Evil” refers precisely to such an existence. 【KAMIHITO Today’s Word 2026.9.22】 ~ The Nature of Assumptions and a Happy Future ~ Many of the causes of the problems people carry may stem from none other than their own assumptions. For example: “The other person is at fault!” “I am at fault!” “No one understands me!” “I am all alone!” “I can never be happy!” “I am not fortunate!” “Even if I go on living, nothing good ever happens!” …… Could most of these be assumptions that you yourself have created? Could they be a kind of delusional tendency, meant to draw the attention of those around you and direct it toward yourself? There is no need to be bound by your past habits of thought. Your future will surely improve. Wonderful, good encounters are waiting for you. For you will become happier and happier from now on.
