~ Savoring Life ~

If we kept eating nothing but sweet things, even the very emotion of our hearts trembling with “Delicious!” would gradually fade and become faint.

That is precisely why cooking is so deep and interesting: it is woven from diverse flavors—saltiness, sourness, spiciness, bitterness, and astringency, as well as strong and mild flavors, and even the range of sometimes finding things delicious and sometimes not tasty.

Isn’t it because of such ups and downs and contrasts that the joy of tasting a single bite of sweetness stands out all the more?

It seems to me that this closely resembles the relationships we weave day by day and the way all kinds of events unfold in our lives.

~ Training Within the Setting We Have Been Given ~

What, I wonder, is the purpose for which I was born into this world and exist?

The answer to that fundamental question is to experience all things, learn deeply, and transform ourselves.

In other words, we are born and live on this earth precisely to achieve the evolution of our souls.

The anguish that feels as though it tears us apart, the sorrow that brings tears that will not stop, the indignation with nowhere to go, the joy that makes our hearts leap, the warmth filled with tender affection, and the enjoyment that makes our hearts dance……
To experience firsthand all the changes in emotion and thought that we encounter, and, through them, to polish the vessel of our humanity, so that we may become beings who hold within themselves a greater and deeper heart of loving compassion—for this, all people who are alive are each undergoing precious training within the setting they have been given.

If you gained wealth, power, intellect, or influence that could move the world as you wished, what would you want to do?

Your choice will naturally reveal itself in keeping with your spirituality:

whether to wish for the realization of a “truly good world” where all living beings live in harmony and share happiness with one another,

or to wish for a “selfish world of domination” where others are subjugated for the sake of one’s own superiority and self-preservation.

The direction of Earth’s future is not entrusted solely to a select few in power.

It is the accumulation of the desires held by each and every Earthling living on this planet, and it is woven by the quality of the collective consciousness that we continue to send out each day.

If, in your present circumstances, you are unable to find joy from the bottom of your heart, before you worry yourself sick, all you need to do is try changing things one by one, starting with what you can change with your own hands.

〜思い込みの出どころ〜

あなたがそのように思い込むようになったのは
かつてどこかで誰かに何かを告げられたこと
あるいは何かを目にし読まされたこと
何らかの扱いを受けたことが
最初のきっかけだったのではないでしょうか

その「誰か」は
一体どのような意図をもって
その言葉を放ち文章を綴り
行動に及んだのでしょうか

もしもその人物が
極めて私的で偏った感情や執着に駆られ
周囲を自らの都合に巻き込むために
起こした言動であったとしたら？

何が客観的な真実であるのか
その真偽を自ら追究しない限り
あなたはその人物の思惑に操られたまま
知らず知らずのうちに
都合よく誘導され続けることになるでしょう

物事の真相を見極めるためには
裁判の如く一方の言葉だけを鵜呑みにせず
必ず双方の言い分に対して
公平に耳を傾けなければ
真偽は決して分からないのです

~ Where Assumptions Come From ~

Perhaps the first reason you came to hold that assumption was that, somewhere along the way, someone told you something, or you saw or were made to read something, or you were treated in a certain way.

With what intention did that “someone” speak those words, write those texts, and carry out those actions?

What if that person, driven by deeply personal and biased emotions or attachments, spoke and acted that way to drag those around them in for their own convenience?

Unless you seek out for yourself what the objective truth is and whether something is true or false, you will remain manipulated by that person’s intentions, and without even realizing it, you will continue to be led in ways that suit them.

In order to discern the truth of things, just as in a trial, you must not blindly accept the words of only one side.
Unless you make sure to listen fairly to what both sides have to say, you will never know what is true and what is false.

虚勢（みえ）を張り続けることに慣れてしまうと
本来の自分に戻ることが次第に難しくなり
心は深い苦しみへと追い込まれてゆきます

それは自らに嘘をつき続けることと同じであり

足元を脅かすことにもなるのです

自身の立場を守るため

~ The True Nature of What Is Causing You to Suffer ~

When you become accustomed to putting up a front, it gradually becomes harder to return to who you truly are, and your heart is driven into deep suffering.

It is the same as continuing to lie to yourself, and in time it becomes a weakness in your own heart that can even threaten your very footing.

To protect your position,
to keep your business going,
to stay ahead of others,
to be liked and accepted by someone
……

But if there were a world where you could be accepted and loved by those around you just as you are, as your true self, how much easier and more comfortable would life be?

The true nature of what binds you and makes you suffer may be none other than your own strongly held assumptions.

As the old saying goes, “Children are mirrors of their parents.”
Children grow up by imitating the adults around them just as they see them.

The thoughts adults hold, the words they speak, their manners and daily actions, and even the way they live—every move adults make continues to have an immeasurable influence on children’s hearts, without their even realizing it.

If we wish for a happy future for children, more than teaching and instructing them with words, we must keep showing them what it means to be good human beings, through how we live our lives.

I think that it is precisely the accumulation of these quiet daily practices that, as a result, steadily leads to “the mending of the world.”

人生は老いるほどに面白いものです

先人たちや諸先輩たちが遺してくれた言葉の真意が
年齢を重ねるにつれて少しずつ深く
胸に染み入るようになってくるからです

当たり前にできていたことが
ひとつずつできなくなってゆくことで
かけがえのない大切なものが何であるかを知り
若き日の過剰な自信が削ぎ落とされることで
自ずと心の奥底から謙虚さを抱けるようになり
尖っていた言葉は丸みを帯びて
丁寧な言葉遣いへと変わり
他者に対し頭を下げたくなる機会が
自然と増えてゆくものなのです

~ A Life That Becomes More Interesting with Age ~

Life becomes more interesting as we grow older.

This is because the true meaning of the words left behind by those who came before us and by our elders gradually sinks deeper into our hearts as we advance in age.

As the things we once did as a matter of course become things we can no longer do, one by one, we come to know what is truly irreplaceable and precious.
As the excessive confidence of our younger days is stripped away, we naturally come to feel humility deep within our hearts.
Our once-sharp words soften and turn into a courteous way of speaking, and the occasions when we feel like bowing our heads to others naturally increase.

Wrapped in the humility of feeling apologetic and the gratitude of feeling thankful, we also become able to deeply savor the seasons of life, quietly gaze at the scenery around us, and walk slowly, one step at a time.

That is precisely why growing old is equal to being granted a profound joy in life.
