Our picture is of a tempting plate of homemade caramel tan slices that sits on a dark, glossy plate lined with a white paper napkin. Four thick, square slices are stacked slightly overlapping in the centre of the plate. Each slice has a firm, golden-brown biscuit base topped with a generous layer of smooth, rich caramel. The caramel is a deep amber colour and can be seen between the layers, contrasting beautifully with the pale golden biscuit. On top is a generous covering of crumbly, golden shortbread-like pieces, creating a wonderfully rough and rustic texture. The pieces are irregularly cut, giving them a distinctly homemade appearance. The warm golden tones of the caramel and crumb topping stand out against the dark plate and black, polished kitchen worktop. Soft lighting catches the glossy caramel and highlights the crisp, crumbly texture of the topping. Overall, the photograph has the inviting appearance of freshly made caramel tan squares. Rich, buttery, crumbly and wonderfully indulgent. And finally today, our picture is finished with a simple white border frame.
