Having a greenhouse, even a small plastic one, really opens up your options for late and early season gardening. I keep my cacti in one spring to autumn then put my potted dahlias in there when I bring my succulents in for the winter 🌱🌵🪴

#GardensHour the pink mini roses have made a final showing for the year.
It’s warm & dry here in Bucks, though turning more Autumnal & dropping in temp & getting wetter mid-week. Planting is really just defined by when the tomatoes stop & I gain some space! #GardensHour

Good evening #GardensHour. Enjoying all the late colour in the garden this year. Pictures taken today. Hoping to plant bulbs but the ground is hard and dry. Still very little rain in Devon, I'm still watering 🙄. Fingers crossed for this week. #FlowerReport #BloomScrolling
#GardensHour the pyracantha is full of berries this time of year. The garden bed around it needs a good tidying up and more soil but it’s soooo prickly that I keep avoiding the area.
You have to start them pretty early, like January same as chillies or tomatoes to get the best out of them I find, it'll be better next year though, do you have a greenhouse? #GardensHour
Have you changed when you’re planting this year? Is it still very warm where you are? #GardensHour
I had great help in my greenhouse last week. 🐾🐕 Percy is keeping a close eye on my grow bags which have spring onion, carrots, kale, purple sprouting broccoli and mustard, so far, along with herbs. 🌱 #Gardenshour

Dahlia 'totally tangerine' looking quite dramatic in the sunshine and showers we've had a lot of this week 🌱
This year October means dahlias to me because I’m finally getting flowers on my seed grown “Black Forest Ruby” plants! Never grown them from seed before I usually just go for tubers but they’ve turned out great with gorgeous almost black foliage. Just feels a bit late 😂 #GardensHour 🌱
Evening all. I've been shopping for bulbs (they were putting up the Christmas trees as we were there) and picked up some autumn colour. My 'cheat for extending the season is getting a grow lamp and heat mat so you can start seeds really early indoors 🌱 #GardensHour
Evening #GardensHour at some point this month I’ll clear the tomatoes and put these onion sets in their place. It’s been a very good year for the tomatoes and I hope for a good onion harvest next year
Greetings Garden's Hour! Hoping for some fall kale and sugar snap peas. I've some shade cloth folded at the end of the bed that I used for protection during this week's heat wave. It may come in handy for frost later. 🌱@gardenshour.bsky.social #GardensHour
Hello #GardensHour had my first broccoli and last runner beans for tea today. Seasons turning.
