Common darter (male?) briefly resting among the bullrushes in Trottick ponds. They suddenly appeared when the sun was shining strongly enough with one bopping my hat as it passed. Several blue dragonflies were seen, likely migrant hawker, but no clear pictures for ID. 📷📸🎞️ #dragonflies #ukwildlife

27 bird species seen, 3 more heard, 2 butterfly species seen on 6.25h/11.8km walk from Swannie Ponds, down Pitkerro Rd, along Dighty Burn/Green Circular to Trottick Ponds and back. Highlights: common darter and probable migrant hawker (lifers) plus two rats; no dippers seen/heard. #ukwildlife
