PatchBird has a new interactive survey map, making it much easier to find a point and take part. The method couldn’t be simpler: fifteen minutes, every bird you detect, and do it regularly.

The oil slick colors of this pelagic cormorant and its spiky feathers on top of its head made me think of today's #Elegant theme

🦉 🪶

Sitting on its nest, nestled against the cliffside of a massive boulder in the ocean, a beautiful pelagic cormorant raises its head as it looks down at the camera. Its feathers are iridescent and a mixture of green, blue, and purple. Its eyes are a gorgeous light bluish-green. Its beak is long and straight, meant to catch fish.
