Two great-tailed grackles trying to impress potential mates by posing with their great tail feathers fully spread out as they hold their beaks straight up into the air and presumably wait for the other grackle to give up.

Walking from left to right, two quail pass by along the ground filled with dirt, sticks and dead leaves. They are mostly gray, with a rich brown patch on their sides. There looks to be painted white smudges within the brown. The female has a small gray beak and a small black top-knot. The male has a larger black forward-curving top-knot along with a white headband on a black head, and a vertical white line running down to the neck.
