It’s always a treat when your bush walk ends at a stunning beach but to then find Cowslip Orchids (Caladenia flava subsp flava) growing on the beach makes it extra special 💙💛🌿

Opodiphthera helena - Helena Gum Moth

This has to be one of the most amazing moths to visit our moth light!

The Helena Gum moth is one of the largest moths in southwest Western Australia. This one had a wingspan of around 13cm. Stunning! 😍

Unlike most of its relatives, whose fruits are prized for their juice, this ancient fruit is nearly all thick, fragrant rind with very little pulp inside. That rind has been used in perfumery and religious rituals for millennia. Happy Sukkot!
