#Empoasca_spec is een kleine, slanke cicade ( #Cicadellidae), meestal groen van kleur. De dieren leven op planten en zuigen plantensappen op. Ze zijn vaak zeer beweeglijk en springen of vliegen snel weg bij verstoring.
