A MAN CALLED ADAM is so raw and so real.

I read “Yes, I Can” (Sammy Davis Jr‘s autobiography) when I was a kid & asked for a Louis Armstrong album when I was 6 years old, but I had not seen this film.

Thank you #filmnoirfoundation for all you do.

Thank you #FilmNoirFoundation for showing the not-quite noir,
A MAN CALLED ADAM (1966)
I was completely blown away.

Sammy Davis Jr’s shockingly brave performance on the big screen — what an effing film it is — see it if you can!
Great cast & dir. by Leo Penn

Edward G. Robinson and a
vacation gone terribly wrong

THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW (1944)

Close-up of Edward G Robinson, wearing a suit and an interesting necktie, is horrified by what just happened on his vacation. He sits leaning forward, grasping a handkerchief, and looking down in shock.

I always enjoy #NoirCityDC! Great to see a movie on the big screen with a crowd -- to hear and share their reactions. Cool movies and great intros from #EddieMuller this weekend, #FosterHirsch next weekend. #NoirAlley #TheNoirCollective #FilmNoir #TCMParty silver.afi.com/events/detai...

In #HangoverSquare, you hear pieces of themes, cues, & chords familiar from much of #BernardHerrmann ‘s past & future works: “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” (1947), “Vertigo” (1958), “North by Northwest” (1959), & “Journey to the Center of the Earth” (1959). #music #filmnoir

Watching a 1935 British movie that I can't find classified as a #FilmNoir, (other than on this link), nor does it look like a noir, but dang, if you go by bad decisions that get you deeper and deeper in, yikes! Can find little if any info about "The House at Greyhaven", 1935, but here's a yt link:

Blade Runner - Winter Edition, Vienna, December 2010

#BlueSkyArtShow #Weather #AlphabetChallenge #WeekNForNeon #FineArt #PhotographersofBluesky #EastCoastKin #ECK #NightPhotography #SnowScene #RedLights #UrbanGaze #FilmNoir

A festive winter street scene captured at night, dominated by a large sphere of glowing red lights suspended over the road. Rows of buildings frame the composition, their shop signs and illuminated windows creating a colorful urban canyon that leads the eye toward the luminous ball and the falling snow. The light is entirely artificial: warm red from the decoration, cool reflections on the wet, snow-dusted pavement, and the varied hues of neon signage. The contrast between deep shadows and bright points of light gives the image a cinematic, film-noir mood, while the drifting snowflakes soften edges and add atmosphere. The slight softness in the foreground draws attention to the mid-ground street life.

In "Chinatown at Midnight" (1949), interior designer Clifford Ward (Hurd Hatfield) steals a valuable jade vase from a Chinatown shop and guns down two people. The police have only one lead in the case: the sound of the killer's voice. #filmnoir
