Blade Runner - Winter Edition, Vienna, December 2010

A festive winter street scene captured at night, dominated by a large sphere of glowing red lights suspended over the road. Rows of buildings frame the composition, their shop signs and illuminated windows creating a colorful urban canyon that leads the eye toward the luminous ball and the falling snow. The light is entirely artificial: warm red from the decoration, cool reflections on the wet, snow-dusted pavement, and the varied hues of neon signage. The contrast between deep shadows and bright points of light gives the image a cinematic, film-noir mood, while the drifting snowflakes soften edges and add atmosphere. The slight softness in the foreground draws attention to the mid-ground street life.
