A Flamingo taken in captivity. The bird is centre of frame, visible from the knees up; in side profile, facing left, so that its left side is visible. It is a tall, long legged bird with a long neck. It has pale pink feathers all over with more red at the end of the wings and tail, an almost banana shaped beak (pointing downward) that is whitish with a black tip. The bird is standing against a dark grey wall of stone, large droplets of water are frozen against it from a waterfall. In the foreground, at the bottom, some out of focus flamingos with their heads tucked into their wings can be seen A Song thrush perched on a dead tree branch in the bright sunshine. The bird is left of centre of the shot, facing right so that its right side is visible. The branch it is on travels from the bottom centre of frame, towards the camera to the top left. There are two vertical branches along the right hand side of the frame and several small branches in the background; one of which passes behind the birds head. I don't have the second theme, but I have this beautiful stork against a blue sky on its nest. He/she returns every year back on this nest. More in the Alt.

Here is a beautiful stork sitting on its huge nest. The nestpool is man made. In nature parc Lelystad, they have had a breeding program for storks. Because they where almost completely declined here. Many from those storks have stay in the parc. But the others fly to South Africa for winter. And early spring they come back. This stork returns every year back to build it nest higher and higher. The couple have raised 3 chick's this year.
