Good morning and happy Sunday Bluesky folks!

Today’s first capture features a beautiful cosmos Flower that I captured a few days ago on my iPhone 17 pro!

🌱 #NaturePhotography #PhotographersOfBluesky #PlantSky #UkGardening #Bloomscrolling #Flower #Mobilephotography

A close-up shot of a bi-color Cosmos bipinnatus flower (likely the 'Picotee' cultivar) in full bloom, set against delicate garden foliage.
Main Flower: Broad, ray-like petals that are crisp white near the center with prominent longitudinal ridges, outlined by a vivid magenta-pink border along the edges.
Center: A bright yellow disc floret center packed with tiny, textured stamens.
Background & Foliage: A smaller, fully white cosmos bloom sits just below the main flower, surrounded by fine, feathery green leaves, slender stems, and several unopened purple and green buds.

Happy Sunday 🌞

I still can’t get over the colours on this beauty growing in my garden.

There’s something so rewarding about growing flowers yourself & then having a moment like this when the garden completely steals the show.

Happy Gardening everyone 🌱

Bare roots, bare branches and, at first glance, not an awful lot to get excited about. 🌱

Goodnight Bluesky Folks!

My last post for Saturday features a beautiful white Japanese Anemone flower that I captured today on my iPhone 17 pro

🌱 #NaturePhotography #PhotographersOfBluesky #PlantSky #UkGardening #Bloomscrolling #Flower #Mobilephotography

A close-up shot of a white Japanese anemone (Anemone × hybrida) blooming against a textured background of garden leaves.
Petals: Five bright white, tissue-thin petals (botanically sepals) featuring delicate veining and slightly crinkled, wavy edges.
Center: A raised, globe-shaped central button in pale lime-green, framed by a dense ring of vibrant, golden-yellow stamens.
Foliage: Dark green, multi-lobed leaves and slender woody stems filling the foreground and background, providing high contrast to the crisp white flowe

There is something in our pond.
The pond is tiny, little more than 1m across and ~0.5m deep. Occasionally, when I show myself, there is an audible "plop" and a sizeable disturbance in the water, as the "something" hides.
Will I ever discover what it is?

From top left, clockwise: Rudbeckia looking way past its best; two more of the yellow Rudbeckia Sunbeckia Graffiti Cherry are still flowering; a late show by some purple Michaelmas Daisies. A poor year for them; a bumblebee on a Verbena Bonariensis; purple Amisted Salvia after rain; Sedum also after the rain, turning pink now.

I'm sure many more years of trouble free snipping are ahead of me. The Kurumi secateurs will be cleaned and sharpened & used for extra special rose & fruit tree pruning...

Good morning Bluesky Folks!

Yesterday while sorting through my old photos I stumbled upon a Polaroid of a Geranium flower I’d taken back on 11/9/1998. I scanned it and then sent it to my iPhone 17 Pro.

🌱 #NaturePhotography #PhotographersOfBluesky #PlantSky #UkGardening #Bloomscrolling #Flower

A close-up photograph captures vibrant regal geranium (Pelargonium) blossoms styled with a retro analog film aesthetic.
Key Elements
Flowers: Two main ruffled blossoms in soft lavender-pink, accented by deep burgundy blotches radiating from the center of each petal.
Foliage: Bright green, serrated leaves and a few dried, brown buds surround the blossoms against a wooden background.
Filter & Timestamp: The image has an aged, vintage look with subtle film grain, dust specks, and an orange digital camera timestamp reading '98 09 11 in the bottom-right corner.

Goodnight Bluesky Family!

My last post for today features an American Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua) tree that I captured today on my Canon EOS R50! It turns a red colour in the Autumn.

🌱 #NaturePhotography #PhotographersOfBluesky #PlantSky #UkGardening #Bloomscrolling

A full, leafy green tree stands centrally on a patch of dry grass beside a paved walkway in front of modern residential buildings.
Tree: Features a straight trunk with a dense, tear-drop-shaped canopy filled with dark green leaves.
 Buildings:
Red Brick Section: A multi-story facade on the left with tall, black-framed rectangular windows and solar panels visible along the roofline.
White Section: An adjoining modern white wall on the right featuring dark-framed windows.
Environment: Bright daylight casts shadows beneath the tree, and a small wooden utility box or bin sits among the low greenery near the base.
