@cfless.bsky.social love!
Wow, I love this. I had a giant book collection and loved watching my kids grow into (and then out of) them but not that many math ones!

WHOA, for real?
A5: I LOVE LOVE Steve Jenkins' books (Actual Size, Down, Down, Down Etc). Beautiful art paper cut out and he really helps kids understand size of number! #elemmathchat
A4: So many, but one I want to mention here is how much I LOVE a rekenrek for K-2. The relationships we can explore on this tool are insane. SO good. #elemmathchat
@ryanflessner.bsky.social omgoodness, stop it. Thanks for sharing! For real, these experiences are everything for me. Hate watching, but love filming with students.

@karencampe.bsky.social yes! I'm collaborating with a HS teacher right now and he starts year with a ton of Fawns images. He's a big fan of how they move the needle with his students! #elemmathchat

@ryanflessner.bsky.social I am a big fan of @openmiddle.com to give students a chance to mess with more than one solution, and you know I do love Problem Srings and I Have, You Need.
@ryanflessner.bsky.social 73. Obvi. Since you are asking. For all the reasons.
@karencampe.bsky.social YES. It's constant work, even at home with my owns Mathers. The number of times I have said "seriously, stop it" when they reach for one. 🤣
Hi! I always miss these but aim to be better! :)
A1: Good question! By asking thought provoking questions that can be answered in many ways and then LISTENING.#elemmathchat
@ryanflessner.bsky.social it IS hard to define!
A1: In a nutshell (to me), it's having a dense, flexible sense about numbers and quantity. It's SO important so that we can reason and recognize patterns and relationships to solve problems. #elemmathchat
