Happy to interact whenever the #ElemMathChat family is ready!

Fully agree. I learn so much by listening! #ElemMathChat

Hi @sneffleupagus.bsky.social ! Thanks for joining in! #ElemMathChat

Hi @heidisabnani.bsky.social ! You have so many. I’m always getting tips on new books from you! #ElemMathChat

Yeeeeees! Listening is key. #ElemMathChat

Woohoo! We trended again! #ElemMathChat

OK #ElemMathChat family...I'm heading to bed. Thanks for the wonderful conversation tonight. I'm grateful for each of you. And - as always - thanks to @mnmmath.bsky.social for organizing these chats for all of us!!!

Still at 9 Eastern! Those time changes are a killer, but it's nice that primetime TV starts at 7 and ends at 10. That worked well for me when we lived in Wisconsin! #ElemMathChat

I agree. One of my favorite things is to have kids (and pre-service teachers and inservice teachers) tell me the story of the equation...ESPECIALLY when there's a variable involved. #ElemMathChat

I was going to ask, but thought I'd do some googling first! #ElemMathChat

Hi @anneliserecord.bsky.social Thanks for joining! #ElemMathChat

It's a sad truth. I love books like Connecting Arithmetic to Algebra (Schifter, Russell, & Bastable). We HAVE help students make connections to Algebra BEFORE they get to Algebra! Algebra shouldn't be the scary monster lurking at the end of middle school/beginning of high school. #ElemMathChat

So well stated. Thank you! #ElemMathChat

Luckily, @mnmmath.bsky.social and I don't live nearby. We'd probably be taking them! 🤣😂🤣 #ElemMathChat

I love this example. Thank you for offering it. Now my mind is spinning about ways to share this with the MS & HS teachers I'm working with. #ElemMathChat

Reppin' the Dawgs. Hope @butleru.bsky.social sees that pic! 🤣 #ElemMathChat

Such a good point - Working with numbers in order to strengthen our skills without the pressure of a grade. I'm wondering how informal assessment might benefit all of us - even secondary teachers - as we think through which opportunities to present to our learners...? #ElemMathChat

Yes! My favorite bookseller is betterworldbooks.com They encourage reusing resources instead of producing and consuming new items. When you buy a book, they donate one. And the quality is GREAT. Most books I've purchased have been hardcover library books that have been taken out of circulation.

Can't wait to add your list to my collection (and the books I still need to find on @mnmmath.bsky.social 's list)! #ElemMathChat
