Andy Burnham statement on the third anniversary of 7 October. "The impact of the attacks has been felt in Jewish communities across the world. In the years since, we have seen a disturbing rise in antisemitic behaviour in the UK. An attack on Jewish people in Britain is an attack on all of us."

"Three years on from the October 7 attacks on Israel, we remember those who were senselessly killed by Hamas terrorists.

The impact of the attacks has been felt not just in Israel, but in Jewish communities across the world who still bear the burden of the tragic events that day.

In the years since, we have seen a disturbing rise in antisemitic behaviour in the UK.

A year ago we witnessed a horrifying terrorist attack on the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation in Manchester, with further attacks against Jewish people and institutions since.""I want Britain's Jewish community to hear this from me directly. We stand with you. Abuse and violence against you, in any form, will not be tolerated. Not on our streets, not online, not in our schools or universities.

That's why we are funding protection for synagogues, schools and community buildings, and why we will come down hard on antisemitism wherever it is found - in classrooms, on campuses and in neighbourhoods.

At home, we are committed to protecting our citizens from vile hatred. Abroad, we continue to work towards a two-state solution, with Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peace and security.

An attack on Jewish people in Britain is an attack on all of us. Antisemitism has no place in this country, and we will do everything we can to stamp it out."

Want to know how far recommendations from #covidinquiry are being implemented by Govt?

Bereaved families shouldn’t have to do this, but in the absence of a formal, independent monitoring mechanism, we’re doing it to help keep us all safe.

"The bereaved families fought for years to secure this Inquiry when many in Government wanted to move on, and they will continue pressing for accountability."

In this new blog @profnaomifulop.bsky.social argues that although the UK Covid-19 Inquiry has exposed serious systemic failures around the procurement of personal protective equipment, meaningful accountability remains largely absent. www.pslhub.org/learn/corona...

The #covidinquiry laid bare the PPE procurement scandal: how some people profited from selling the UK Govt unuseable PPE while others died because PPE was inadequate, including my mum.

Andy Burnham seemed to do a social media video at the drop of a hat - so why the silence about the masked mobs on the street?

This risks repeating the same mistakes Starmer made on the far right. Sometimes you have to call out racist thugs as racist thugs.

Today, the Hillsborough Law has its second reading in the House of Lords. Covid-bereaved families know the cost of being forced to fight powerful institutions for the truth. We stand with everyone who fought for this law. Peers must pass it in full.

šŸ‘€ Read impt covid inquiry report findings on UK Govt ā€˜VIP lane’ used to procure PPE frm people with political connections incl friend of Michael Gove’s who ran a fashion company. PPE bought through VIP lane was of poorer quality & higher cost. @lawrencedunhill.bsky.social @cbffjuk.bsky.social

The Covid-19 Inquiry has today released its findings on Module 5, including the ā€˜VIP Lane’, which enabled suppliers with political connections to win huge PPE contracts during the pandemic 🧵1/
