Justice is only served, when all are held to account. Wealth and position shouldn't shield people from that. That includes peers and politicians.

@cbffjuk.bsky.socialOct 9, 2026, 9:51 AM

We welcome the conviction of a man who cashed in while our loved ones died.

Yet so many rich and powerful individuals, like Michelle Mone, have faced no justice.

We will not stop fighting until we hold everyone who profited at our loved ones' expense to account.

How do we know whether the recommendations from the Covid-19 Inquiry are actually translating into change?

Featured on the hub today, a tracker created by @cbffjuk.bsky.social to monitor the UK Government’s progress in implementing the inquiry's recommendations. www.pslhub.org/learn/invest...

👀 Read my blog on the PPE scandal & how we’re still fighting for accountability.
Without true accountability, we won’t be protected for the future.

The PPE scandal has been exposed. Why has almost nobody been held responsible?

Our member @profnaomifulop.bsky.social writes for Patient Safety Learning’s hub on the VIP Lane and bereaved families’ fight for accountability.

🆕In this blog @profnaomifulop.bsky.social argues that although the UK Covid-19 Inquiry has exposed serious systemic failures around the procurement of personal protective equipment, meaningful accountability remains largely absent. www.pslhub.org/learn/corona... @cbffjuk.bsky.social

👀 NEW: launched today @cbffjuk.bsky.social covid inquiry tracker. We’re monitoring how far the Govt have implemented inquiry recommendations to date. Will be updated in real time. Bereaved families shouldn’t have to do this but we are ‘cos we want to keep us all safe. @lawrencedunhill.bsky.social

We’ll use these ratings to pressure the Cabinet Office & others to make better progress & update our ratings as further action is taken - or not This is crucial to ensuring the country is better prepared for the next pandemic or national crisis & losing fewer lives 9/

@cbffjuk.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 9:23 AM

Govt has so far responded to the first 3 inquiry modules, including 36 recommendations. In our first assessment, we judge 11 recommendations to be on track for implementation, moderate progress on 13, little progress on 6, and 6 have been rejected. 8/

@cbffjuk.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 9:23 AM

We give the Govt’s response and action against each Recommendation one of four ratings: on track, moderate progress, little progress or rejected These will be updated as actions are taken, or promises are broken. That will mean keeping the tracker going for years, not months 7/

@cbffjuk.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 9:23 AM

We shouldn't have to act as a watchdog for public inquiry recommendations, which is why we’re supporting calls for a formal National Oversight Mechanism for public inquiries, to hold Govt accountable - but until that’s in place, we will do what we can ourselves. 6/

@cbffjuk.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 9:23 AM

Bereaved families have spent years reliving the worst moments of their lives to help establish what went wrong during the pandemic. The recommendations are the opportunity to make sure the country is better prepared next time, and fewer lives are lost. 5/

@cbffjuk.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 9:23 AM

Once an inquiry has finished and the headlines move on, there is often little pressure on ministers and public bodies to follow through on what was promised. Recommendations get delayed, watered down or forgotten. But we cannot allow that to happen with the Covid Inquiry. 4/

@cbffjuk.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 9:23 AM

There is very good reason for doing this. Over the last three decades, around 30 public inquiries into healthcare scandals have made more than 1,400 recommendations, but researchers found just one in five were ever fully implemented. 3/

@cbffjuk.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 9:23 AM

The Tracker provides a comprehensive, independent & human assessment of the Inquiry’s outcomes, rating the Govt response to every recommendation. It will be continually updated as new reports are published and reforms are delivered or fail to materialise. 2/

@cbffjuk.bsky.socialSep 28, 2026, 9:23 AM

Bereaved families fought hard to get the Covid Inquiry set up -but what really matters is the changes it leads to

That’s why we’ve today launched an Inquiry Recommendations Tracker - the 1st of its kind - to monitor & assess the implementation phase

Today, the Hillsborough Law has its second reading in the House of Lords. Covid-bereaved families know the cost of being forced to fight powerful institutions for the truth. We stand with everyone who fought for this law. Peers must pass it in full.
