Froglife is a national wildlife conservation charity focused on the conservation of the UK’s reptile and amphibian species and their associated habitats.
Froglife staff member Darren recently popped outside to put the recycling out, only to discover this handsome chap hiding underneath the bin! This beautiful great crested newt had found himself a cosy little hiding spot!

Our #GreenTalent Placement, Peter, recently discovered the shed skin (or slough) of a common lizard while out at Hampton Nature Reserve.
Like other reptiles, common lizards shed their skin as they grow – a brilliant sign of the wildlife calling the reserve home!
Our #CoalfaceToWildspace Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire & The Lothians team met up with our Operations Manager, Darren, to learn how to fly a drone!
This exciting day was planned so, once they get their flying and operating IDs, the team can record important imagery of their project sites.
#DYK Common Lizards are unusual among reptiles because they incubate their eggs inside their bodies instead of laying them, giving them their other name: 'viviparous lizard'.
Their #NatureChampion is Katie Hagmann MSP @katiehagmann.bsky.social in collaboration with Froglife @froglife.bsky.social
